S.H.I.E.L.D Is The Enemy

When love goes wrong

Makenna~ 
       Hydra. My brother is Hydra. He couldn't be. He wouldn't . . .  not after them killing our mom.

      "Your brother is Hydra? Did you know about this?" Steve says behind me. I turn around and look at him.
       "Does it look like I knew? The last thing I heard about him was the day that I thought he was dead. But if he didn't trust dad, then he probably knew nothing about Hydra, let alone knew what they were." They are all looking behind me at the screen. "What are you guys looking at-"I whirl around and I can't breathe.
       "You have one thing right. I didn't know what we were. Now I do."The video had somehow turned live and my brother was standing there arms crossed and a big Hydra symbol behind him. "Hey sis."
         "Brian?" He chuckles. "You have dad's laugh."
        "Let's skip the lovey  dovey crap and go straight to the business." He grabs something and yanks it up. I mean her up. I walk closer to the screen and see Lilly. "You see we have something of yours, and you have something we want. Come alone to our old house. You have two hours." The video goes black and I take off towards the training rooms to get my gear on. I get my leather suit on and the door opens. I zip up my suit and grab a utility belt before turning around. Steve is the one standing there. 
         "Don't try to talk me out of this." 

         "I'm not going to. I get it she is the closest thing to family you've got. But, you said that even you don't know what will happen if you were to lose control of you powers." He grabs a pole and holds in his hands. "If you were to lose it with Lilly around you could kill her. And I don't think you want that on your mind for the rest of your life. That's why I have to stop you." He tries to hit me with the pole but I  dodge. I form an ice ball in my hand and throw it at Caps head. It hits him and he falls to the ground. I kneel by him. 

           "Sorry about this Cap. But, she is all I have." I freeze his feet and hands to the ground and look at his face. His eyes are yelling at me to stop but his mouth stays closed. I grabbed the pole and stand up before hitting him over the head and knocking him out. 
          After I had gotten everything I needed from the training room, I walked out of the base and grabbed one of the motorbikes. I grabbed a helmet and put it on before starting the bike and leaving. 
           An hour later I got to my old house. The windows were boarded up and it looked as if no one had lived in it for years. The lawn was torn up, the front door was torn off of its' hinges, and there was cobwebs strung across the banner of the front porch. I step onto the porch and towards the door. As I step in I can feel my pulse quicken. This is where she died. This place was where she had been killed for no reason other than saving me. I walk to the study and just stare. Everything was how it was that night so long ago. The desk was over turned. There was a large blood stain on the carpet where she had laid. There were papers strewn across the room. 
         "It hurts." Someone says walking up behind me," Knowing that she died right her and there was nothing you could do to stop it." I look to my right and see Brian. "I didn't think you were stupid enough to come."
         "You took my best friend. There is nothing that could have stopped me from coming." we stay quiet for minute." Let's get this over with, Brian. I'm ready to die." He chuckles. 
        "Oh darling sister I'm not going to kill you." He grabs my arm. As Zola said. Information requires experimentation." He yanks my arm and we walk to a door under the stairs. He opens it and we both go down the stairs. I looked around but didn't see Lilly. 
         "Where is she? Where is Lilly?" I ask frantically. He smirks and evil smirk and bring me to a wall. He takes my hand and bolts it to the wall before backing up. 
         "She'll be along shortly. You and I have some business to attend to first though. " He grabs a chair and sits in front of me. "Show me your powers and I'll show you mine." I freeze the bolt holding me to the wall and break it."Those were brand new. This is the reason we can't have nice things!" I set my hand on my lap. 
           "There's one, do you really want to know the rest?" Neither of us move. "Because if so I have the perfect dummy to use them on." He stands up. 
           "Oo Your file failed to say that you were so feisty. No matter I already know your powers, now let me show you mine." Hey comes closer to me and puts his thumb on my forehead. The first thing that happens is I hit a brick wall. or at least it feels like it. I get up and I am . . . I don't know where. It's late at night and a girl is screaming. I listen to my first instinct and run towards the noise. When I get to I open the door and step in but that is as far as I can go. There is something holding me back. The man is holding a gun and points it at the girl. Before I can react the gun goes off and the girl hits the floor. I didn't save her. Then I look at who it is and I realize . . . that it's me. And the one who shot me . . . is my dad. 
            As if I am being pulled out of water I come back. "You know," Brian says," For someone who kills people for a living that is a very odd fear to have."I blink a couple of times. 
          "Some people deserve to die others don't." I blink some more. Brian sits back down and looks at me. 
           "Don't worry the drowsiness wears off after a time." Then everything is silent.

           "Why are you doing this?" I finally speak up," What did Hydra do to you?" He gets up and walks to a small table. 
           "They didn't do anything to me." He says. "They showed me who you really were. Then they taught me how to use my powers. So that one day when you found me. I could take the pretty little drug inside of you and then kill you." He smirks. "With some help of course. Addie will you please come out here?" A girl comes out of the shadows and I can't breathe. I can't think and I don't know what to do. 

           "Lilly?" I ask shocked. 
           "Addie, actually." Brian goes over to her and kisses her. 
           "No. But you were there in the red room. You were there for it all. You knew me better than anyone." She chuckles.
           "That was my mission. And now that it's over and we've got you I can stop pretending that you mean anything to me." She comes over and grabs my arm and yanks me up," And no one is coming to save you. Not this time." She puts me on a table  and latches me down. 
          "You know how this turned out for Zola," I say. 
          "Yeah I do." She says walking back behind the glass where my brother is. Moments later they come out with two vials and inject them into me. I can feel something with in me start to move. I feel my eyes start to change to white but I can't stop them. I try to hold the copilot back But it is so strong. 
           The door suddenly gets broken down. The Avengers as well as Barry all rush in. The latches disappear and I know that Barry had undone them. I start to writhe on the table. I could hear the fighting going on around me but I couldn't stop it. All of a sudden, I was pulled off the table and forced to a standing position. An arm went around my throat and the barrel of a gun was pressed to my head. 
          "Stop!" everyone in the room stops what they are doing and looks towards us. I know that it's Brian behind me. "I'll kill her. Don't test me." 

          "Do it." I say tiredly." Brian you have no idea what is about to happen. And when it does no one is safe. Not you, not me, not even them. Please kill me. This will all be over. I won't hurt anyone." All of the Avengers are looking at me. "Leave Brian, before it's too late." But it already was. Ice was forming at my feet and things started to blow up. Brian let go of me and I fell to my knees. I was done fighting this was inevitable. 
          "Clear the house." Steve says coming to my side. Everyone leaves and it is only me and Steve. "Hey look at me, how can I help, what's going on?" I take a breathe and more things blow up. 
           "Steve," I say in pain," You have to go. It's too late for me. I'm ready to die." I fall back into his arms as my third power begins to blow things over. I look at his eyes." You need to go." Tears sting my eyes as the pain begins to take over." I've excepted this. But you don't have to die with me. Please, Steve I need you to go-"
           "How can I? I never- We never had that talk. I - I never told you how I felt. This can't end like this. Tell me how to stop this." I shake my head," There has to be some way!" 
          "Steve. Steve you have to go. Now, Please I can't die knowing that I killed you." I take my hand and grab my necklace. I rip it off of my neck and put it in his hands. "Keep it safe." Pieces of the house start to fall apart." Go. Go!" I yell, he lets go of me and runs through the storm and to the door. He takes one last look and then leaves. The door slams shut and I smile. Ice starts to form a small dome around me. But it doesn't matter. I close my eyes and let the co pilot take over. 

Steve's P.O.V. 
        As I make it outside the house blows up throwing me towards the street. I hit Barry and we both fall down. 
        "Steve!" Natasha yells coming over to me." What happened?" I sit up and look at the house. 
        "I was too late." I say. I pick up my hand and look at the necklace she had given me to keep safe. It is a tiny charm that looked like a heart beat. She had told me once that she wore it because it reminded her that she was human and not a monster." She couldn't control it." We all just look at the house. 
          What happened next none of us were expecting. A man steps out of the fire carrying a body. He comes to stand in front of us before setting the body down on the pavement and kneeling by it. He turns the body and we see that it is Makenna. I crawl over to her and wipe the hair out of her face. The man leans down and kisses her forehead. 
          "Take care of her," He says," And tell her that I never meant to leave." He stands up and then he's gone. I look at Makenna and see her chest rise and fall. I pick her body up and cradle it in my arms as I kiss her forehead. She's okay.
