I'm very tired, so I decided...
"What better way to fall asleep than to write a fanfiction?"

Garroth P.O.V
He woke up about an hour later. I was going through my phone the entire time. I realized he was awake when he sprung over and wrapped his arms around me. He scared me to death. He laughed softly in my ear. I turned off my phone.
"Oh my Irene, it's so hot! I thought they fixed the AC!" He said after a second.
"They did. It must be broken again."
He rolled onto his back and sprawled out across the bed.
"What should we do today?" He asked.
"I dunno... Maybe walk around a bit? Explore?"
"Ooh, that sounds fun."
I sat up. Laurence propped himself up with one arm. He sighed and pushed his hair out of his face. He then sat up completely.
"When should we go?" He asked.
"Whenever you want!"
"Now?"
"Sure!"
He leaned towards me and kissed me on the cheek. I blinked in surprise. He smiled and let out a small laugh at my reaction. He winked and hopped out of bed. I ignored my blushing and got up as well. Laurence grabbed my hand and walked out the door, taking me with him.
"Where you guys going?" Katelyn asked from the couch.
"We're just gonna walk around a bit. You and Travis wanna come?"
"Sure!" Travis said.
We waited on them to get ready, then left. We walked down the sidewalk towards the dock.
"The birds are so pretty!" Laurence said happily, watching the birds as they flew around.
I nodded in agreement. We passed some of the shops and looked in the windows as we passed them. I wasn't watching where I was going. I heard Laurence gasp and stick his arm out in front of me to stop me. I looked at his arm in surprise. He crouched down and picked something up. I stepped forward to see what he was holding. His eyes were wide and completely mystified. I saw what he was holding.
A small, black and white tortoiseshell kitten looked up at me with soft blue eyes. Laurence slowly petted it, visibly melting inside. (For those who are curious:
