I tried to scream but nothing came out. I squeezed my eyes shut tight as it bored down on me. A scream split the air.
"Careful, now," said Kade. I opened me eyes to a dead Lightwing, Kade's bloody sword and his smile. He offered me his hand and behind him a pair of piercing red demon eyes appeared. I gave a small cry and fainted.
When I awoke, Kade, Pygon and Nico were sitting by a fire.
"Glad your alive," said Nico. I grunted in reply and sat up.
"Where's Noah?" I asked. Nico turned to me and placed a hand on my shoulder. I met his eyes reluctantly.
"We... We found his body in the forest," Nico said gravely. "From the looks of him, the Minotaur got him. There were some dead monsters around him though- a Manticore, a Drakon."
"Why did you leave him?" I asked.
"He told us to run," said Kade. I turned to stare at him as he said, "So we did."
