Saphira glared at me. "Shut up and do your task, insolent boy." I shot her an angry look. She ignored me and padded from the cave. I tried to follow her, but only managed a few footsteps before I stopped. I simply could not move any further. Sighing, I turned to Stonerod.
"Hatch, you stupid egg," I murmured. The egg remained still. I hissed in frustration. "Crack your shell with your powerful legs and show me what a magnificent creature you are!" I said, trying to coax him out using compliments. The egg still didn't move. "You know what? I give up already, you dumb egg!" Out the corner of my eye, I saw Saphira turn in interest. I ignored her and sat down. "All I want is to leave so I can warn Nico and Kade about Pygon. I want to find out if Jack is ok- No, I need to warn Nico and Kade and I need to know if Jack is ok. I need to die fighting Pygon and his minions, not in some stupid cave, waiting for some ridiculous stone to hatch!" As I finished my sentence, Saphira moved closer. I fell silent. Suddenly, a bright blue light hit the room. I glanced up. A great, glowing crack ran down the side of Stonerod. The egg was hatching.
