Chapter 2 - Part 2
•At Rene's apartment•
"Wow, you have a very nice apartment"
"Thank you" Rene said as he handed me a glass of wine. I sat down on the couch, and took a sip. Rene sat down beside me, and turned on the tv. "What do you want to watch?"
"It's your house, you decide"
"You're the guest" I laughed.
"Okay how about some music? Can we agree on that?" He said, as he turned on the stereo, then he came and sat beside me again.
"So" I said
"So"
"How are you?"
"I'm good, you?"
"I'm good"
"Good" we both stared at each other, we both could feel the awkwardness.
"There's no reason this needs to be weird Cèline, we're just two friends enjoying a glass of wine and talking"
"Yes I agree, but I don't know I just-"
"You just what?"
"What would Alex say?"
"He would be okay with it right?"
"I don't know, he thinks you like me, so he doesn't exactly like me spending time alone with you"
"I do like you Cèline"
"You do?" I say shocked
"Yeah, you're nice, funny, talented and beautiful, can you blame me?" I couldn't believe it. I recently started feeling different about Rene, but I didn't say anything. I didn't think he'd feel the same. But he does?
"Rene, how long have you felt like this?"
"I don't know it just kind of happened"
"Rene I have to tell you something"
"What is it?"
"Well, recently I-"
"Wait before you say anything I have to ask... Is Alex trying to make you quit?" He said interrupting me.
"He doesn't want me to quit music-"
"He wants you to quit working with me"
"Yeah. But I don't want to. We've worked together for so long, we work well together, it would be silly to stop working together"
"I completely agree"
"But Alex doesn't understand that"
"Well I understand. Do you want some more?" He said gesturing to my empty wine glass.
"Oh, sure" he took my glass and went into the kitchen. I followed. He poured the wine into my glass and handed it to me. "Here you go"

"Thanks" I took a sip. We walked back into the living room, and sat on the couch.
"Rene? What do you think of Alex?"
"He seems like a nice guy, but he can be a little grumpy at times"
"He is, a lot" I told him about all the times, Alex has gotten mad at me, Rene listened quietly, letting me talk. When I finished talking, I was crying. "Wow. He seems pretty awful"
"He is most of them time, I mean I do love him, but, you know" I started crying again.
"I know, it's okay Cèline" he said, and he hugged me. He held me tight. Then as he started to let me go, he leaned in and kissed me...
