Falling Into You

Chapter 6

I walked into the kitchen and saw Rene. He turned and smiled at me, I smiled back.
"I made some coffee, I thought it would help you wake up" he said as he handed a cup of coffee to me.
"Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of mornings, so coffee is usually a necessity" he laughed
"I believe it, I've seen you come to the studio a few times with a coffee cup"
"Well usually I have to record so early in the morning, I don't want to be yawning the whole time. I need coffee!" We both laughed
"Well, we should probably get to your house if we want to make it to the studio on time"
"Okay let's go"

We walked to his car, and he opened my door and gestured for me to get in. "Thank you" he smiled and shut my door. He got in the drivers seat and started up the car.
My phone rang. It was Alex. I don't even want to answer it while I'm with Rene.
"Is it Alex?"
"Yeah... I um hate to ask, but would you mind not saying anything. I don't want him knowing that I'm with you, he gets mad pretty easy"
"I won't say a word"
I answered the call.
"Hello?"
"Hey it's me"
"Hi, how's your sister?"
"She's good, how are you?"
"I'm good"
"How did you sleep last night? I know you don't really like staying alone"
"Oh I slept, uh, fine. I was really tired, so I didn't mind"
"That's good. You remembered you have to go to the studio today right?"
"Yes I'm about to leave right now"
"Are you getting a ride?"
"Yes"
"From who? Rene?"
"Um, no. My sister said she would give me a ride"
"Linda?"
"Yes she should be here soon"
"Oh well say hi to her for me"
"I will"
"Okay well I might be getting back a little late. I'll try to be there as soon as I can"
"Okay, well I'll see you when you get back"
"Alright bye" he hung up the phone and I breathed a sigh of relief.
"Sorry about that, you can talk now" I laughed
"Haha it's alright. How is he doing?"
"He's good. He said he'd be getting back late"
"Oh that sucks. But we should probably go to you house now"
"Oh right yes of course"

We drove to my house, and pulled into the driveway. We both got out of the car and I pulled my key out from my purse. I unlocked the door and let Rene and myself in.
"I'll be right back!" I said as I ran up the stairs. I walked into my room and straight to my closet. I picked out a pair of jeans, and a nice sweater. I brushed my hair, and put it into a ponytail, I fixed my makeup from last night, most of it had already come off anyway. I looked in the mirror quickly before walking downstairs.
"I'm ready, let's go"
"Okay!"

We arrived at the studio about 20 minutes later.
I went into the recording booth, I'm still recording the rest of the album. Today we are working on Christmas Eve, and O Holy Night.
I start to sing
"Snow falling, gently to the ground
Tis the night before and in my heart there is no doubt
That this is going to be the brightest holiday

I look up and see Alex. What was he doing here?
I walk out of the booth and go over to him.
"SURPRISE!"
"What are you doing here, you said you were going to be getting back late?"
"I wanted to come and surprise you!"
"Well you did surprise me!" He gave me a kiss and a hug. I looked at Rene. I felt so guilty. I just kissed Rene last night. And now here I am kissing Alex, it just feels so wrong.
Alex turned to Rene. "Hi Rene, how are you today?"
"I'm good how are you?"
"I'm good thanks"
He turned back to me. "You sound great, I missed hearing you sing. I wanted to make sure I came to the studio and heard you record!"
"Well I have to sing the rest right so you came right on time!"
I went back into the booth and continued singing the song.
"To spend this special time of year with someone who, makes me feel the special way that you do
Walking with you in a winter snow, kissing underneath the mistletoe"
I finished the song and fixed what ever needed to be fixed. We took a break and then I recorded O Holy Night.
After I finished singing that, I came out of the booth and got compliment from everyone in there. I think it's going to be a good album, I've been working very hard on it.

We all talked for a while about the album and other things.
Alex said he was tired from the long drive home, so we left.
I said goodbye to everyone, I have to come back in two days so I have a bit of time to catch up on all the sleep I lost last night, and spend some time with Alex.
"Why don't we all go to dinner tonight?" One of the producers, Tony said.
"Well, I don't know about tonight. Alex just got home he's been gone for a few days. So I think he wants to just stay home tonight"
"Okay that's fine, how about tomorrow night? Is that good?"
I looked at Alex, and he nodded.
"Yes that would be great, thank you"
"We will see you then. Bye you two!"
"Bye have a good day"
Alex reached for my hand as we walked out the door. I know Rene is going to be at the dinner tomorrow night, and I'm very excited, but kind of nervous.
