I was lying down in my bed continuing to write my stories when I heard a voice I hadn't heard in a long time.
"I trust you still have them?" The voice had asked.
"Yeah, they're in the basement." Damon replied.
"And you're still going along with our agreement?" I smirked as I realised that the voice belonged to none other than my brother-in-law Elijah. Him and his bloody deals.
"Stefan and I will be there." Damon told him.
"Perfect. Now I also have a personal matter I require your assistance with. You wouldn't happen to know the name Fiore?" I wasn't sure how to feel about his sudden inquisition for me. On the one hand, I knew he wouldn't hurt me, but he also wanted a united family and 9 times out of 10, that ended badly for me.
"No, never heard of her. What's it to you?" Damon said, swiftly protecting me. I smiled knowing that Damon still cared about me despite him clearly having fallen for the latest in the lines of doppelgangers.
"I am inclined to believe you are lying" Elijah said knowingly. "And I would hate to have to extract the truth from you in a more forcible way." Elijah was becoming more aggressive and I knew this would rile Damon up leading to an altercation that would inevitably end badly for him. Elijah was crazy underneath his noble exterior. He could do bad things and feel no remorse, as if he didn't even know he did it. Killing Damon would be childs play.
I sighed as I got out of bed and tied my hair into a messy bun. I was wearing a grey baggy jumper with black leggings. I had never looked more plain in my life, I thought to myself as I walked out and met Damon and Elijah minutes away from attempting to kill each other.
"Stand down Damon" I said to him whilst smiling warily at Elijah. "Elijah, last I heard you were wiling away in a box, how rude of you to leave me" I said jokingly as I went in to kiss his cheek.
"Well, someone had to keep my brother company" he said nonchalantly.
"Low blow Elijah, low blow" Part of me was hurt by his words but I had to be sure of Elijah's motives before provoking him. "So, to what do I owe the pleasure of your presence?" I asked him.
"Do you mind if we go somewhere to speak alone?" Before I could answer, Damon had piped up.
"No, anything you have to say to her, you can say to all of us." He said referring to himself and Stefan. I smirked at Damon so clearly not wanting another person to have me alone.
"I would protest Elijah but unfortunately, I am a guest in their home. And as the saying goes, their house, their rules." I told him, smiling smugly at him.
"So be it. I was just curious as to why you and Niklaus are in your current state." He asked me.
"I think it would be best if Niklaus explained that to you himself" I said defensively.
"I agree; however, he refuses to answer me. Although you calling him Niklaus further solidifies my suspicions that he must have done something extremely damaging" He said almost shocked. "yet certain that you will forgive him" he murmured inaudibly.
"You would be right in that assumption. Now, as much as I enjoy your presence Elijah, I wouldn't want to upset my home owners so if that's all" I said hoping he would get the hint.
"Actually Fiore, I'm planning a family reunion of sorts, and I would be delighted if you would accompany me" He said eyeing me carefully.
I looked to Damon and Stefan hoping one of them would object but to no avail. "Anything to please you dear brother" I said feigning interest. "Give me a few minutes to get dressed" I said before I walked back to my room.
