"How long to go?" I asked Jeremy who was still sketching the tattoo in Connor's prison cell.

"I'm done" He smiled up at me, looking so worn out and tired. I couldn't blame him; the poor kid had been through so much.

"Great" Klaus said, snatching the sketchpad from him. Such a rude git. Klaus immediately started scowling and before I could react he grabbed Jeremy by the throat. "Looks like your little friend here is a dirty little liar".

"Get your hands off of him!" I growled.

"You look at it. Nice try, you impertinent little punk but I've seen the tattoo, there's more to it" I picked up the sketchpad and Klaus was right, there was a lot more left of it. For once, I wish people would make saving them easier.

"Come on Jeremy, please just draw the full thing or he will kill you, permanently." I pleaded with him.

"I swear, that's it. He said it grows when he kills vampires." Jeremy choked out. Klaus rolled his eyes and threw Jeremy on the floor.

"Nate, take him home" Klaus said as one of his hybrids walked in.

"Not even on a cold day in hell." I spat. "I'll take him home"

"So be it" Klaus said practically stomping out of the room.

Jeremy and I walked into my car feeling very different. Jeremy looked like he was high on life, grinning so brightly, he could outshine the sun. I on the other hand was so stressed and frustrated and annoyed, I thought I would get alopecia. We drove in the car still feeling the same and eventually I had to ask because if I didn't I would've slapped him all the way home.

"Okay, tell me right now, what is making you smile so much? And what the hell happened in there where you and the others were just laughing and I didn't know what happened. And don't tell me you don't know because I will swallow your magic ring and throw you into a shark tank. Or even worse, I'll dump you with my husband"

"Okay, definitely not what I wanted to hear. Very violent and—never mind. You called me your boyfriend today." And now it was all coming together.

"Ah." If black people could go red, I'd give a tomato a run for its money.

"Did you mean it?" He asked, still grinning.

"Did you want me to?" I had never paid such close attention to the road in my life. I wanted to look anywhere except at him.

"I asked you first"

"Fine. I did. I do. I know that we didn't have a proper conversation about it but I guess I skipped that part."

"Stop the car" I sighed as I pulled over, still looking directly in front of me. "Look at me".

"Don't forget, I can kill you in an instant." I grumbled.

"Great way to start a relationship. My girlfriend threatened to kill me, oddly enough in this town I'm sure that isn't a first" He chuckled.

"Oh, so we're a thing now?"

"I guess we are. But could you maybe not call Klaus your husband? It's bad enough that you're still in love with him, but husband definitely trumps boyfriend."

"Sure" I didn't want to. I may have agreed to do it but I didn't want to. I wanted Klaus to come and whisk me away. But he wouldn't. I had Jeremy, and he loved me.

Jeremy started to kiss me, at first it was soft and gentle but soon it became apparent what he wanted to do.

"Right here? Right now?" I asked, eyebrow raised.
