I stumbled into the woods, clutching my chest as I saw Elijah and Rebekah standing there. Elijah was still poised, trying to be strong for us all but I knew he was hurting, Niklaus was his brother in spite of all the bad things he had done. Rebekah was shaking, tears overflowing from her eyes.
"Fi" Rebekah said as she came to hug me, sobbing together at our loss.
"It'll be fine" Elijah said joining us.
"But it won't be. Everyone I've ever loved will be gone" I cried out.
"You have us" Rebekah said breaking the embrace to look at me.
"Do I? Because we have a vampire of our own trying to kill us." I told them still sobbing. Alaric had killed Nik and then he would kill Elijah and Rebekah and Kol and I would be left all alone.
"They are still among us." Elijah spoke calmly. "Tyler Lockwood is dead, but the rest are still living."
"Fi, you said Niklaus originated their bloodline." Rebekah said turning back to face me.
"He did." I said with conviction. I was there when he turned Mary, it was him.
"It wasn't me; it wasn't Kol" Elijah said.
"It wasn't me either." Rebekah continued.
"Nor me. It was Nik, I'm sure of it." I told the two of them.
"Then how are they still alive?" Elijah asked.
"I don't know, but I know it was Nik" I told him.
"I'm going to make a few inquiries and find out what exactly is happening here." Elijah said, leaving the two of us behind.
"So what next? Back on the run?" I said trying to wipe away the tears, but it was useless as they simply kept getting replaced by fresh new ones.
"No. I cannot do it again. The hunter will keep coming after us. I've been alive for 1000 years, and I've spent all of it running. I don't want to run anymore Fi, I can't." She said. "I have to kill Alaric, it's the only way for us to be free. And to do that, I have to kill Elena."
She finished her sentence and sped off. I followed quickly behind her and chased her down to the Wickery bridge. I came with intent to stop her but by the time I had gotten to the bridge it was too late. The car swerved and flew over the guard rail.
"You did it" I said in shock of her. Elena was dead, but at least that meant Alaric was dead too.
"I'm sorry. But it had to be done." Rebekah said as she fled from the bridge.
I had two options, leave the girl to die and be free for the rest of my life, or save her because I wanted to be a good person.
I started to walk away, ready to live my free life but instead I remembered. She wasn't alone. Matthew had been with her. I may not have cared about Elena's wellbeing, but I knew that Rebekah cared for Matthew. If I didn't save him, Rebekah would regret it down the line.
I dived into the river and swam searching for the two of them in the car. The car window was broken and Elena had been wounded but I noticed that the scent of her blood wasn't human alone; She had vampire blood coursing through her veins. I opened the back door and pulled an unconscious Matt out of the car and carried him to safety. I came back to get Elena and took them both to the hospital.
When I got to the hospital and called Damon and Stefan who promptly arrived. Damon sped up to me and grabbed my neck.
"Where the hell is she? What the hell did you do to her?" He asked lifting me from the ground. I spat in his eye and kicked him to the ground. I stood on his chest, the heel of my stiletto breaking his skin.
