~Klaus POV~

Kol had knocked on Klaus's door to taunt him. He was livid considering his brother had him left in box for centuries. He came into the room making a ruckus as he did and awoke Klaus.

"Fiore?" Klaus shot up and looked around for his wife. Kol laughed at him, he was completely unable to control himself. His brother's pitiful behaviour amused him beyond measure.

"It appears that your beloved wife has seen the light and abandoned you also." Kol continued to laugh until he spotted Fiore's note. He walked up to it slowly, not alerting Klaus of what he was going to.

"Dear Niklaus" Kol spoke, mimicking Fi "I'm sorry to have to leave you but I need time to think about us. I'm not sure I can let things go back to the way they were" Kol went into hysterics whilst Klaus silently fumed, not wanting to invoke the wrath of his mother by hurting Kol.

"Honestly, Nik, your love for Fiore has made you a weak and pathetic excuse for a man. I guess I dodged a bullet on that." Kol smirked. He knew that he had set off the loose cannon that was Klaus. He wanted him to attack him, he knew what would come to Klaus if he did.

Klaus kicked him in his knee, broke off a chair leg and staked him with the wooden leg. Kol cried out in pain, loudly obviously trying to notify the rest of his family about what Klaus was doing. But Klaus knew what he was up to, he clamped his hand over Kol's mouth making sure no one would be aware of what was happening between the two.

"Never talk about her like that ever again or the next time I put a stake in you, it will be the last stake that anyone will ever put into you. Secondly, I'm not in love with Fiore anymore, so I would watch out the next time you feel like you can call me weak, brother" Klaus said raging. He threw Kol on the ground and Kol laughed maniacally as he pulled the stake out from his shoulder.

"You don't love her? Prove it. Mother's throwing a ball to commemorate our reunion, invite someone else instead of your precious Blossom. I'm sure there's someone out that ready to brave the grenade that is you" Kol said smirking defiantly almost certain that Klaus would disagree.

"Fine" Klaus spat. "Now leave". He was so enraged that he didn't even think twice about accepting Kol's bet. Fiore didn't love him, it didn't matter how much he loved her, if she didn't reciprocate those feelings. She had tried to set him up with Caroline after all, it was what she wanted.

Klaus looked for a dress to give to Caroline. He took out the first dress he could find. It was a green mermaid dress that he wasn't particularly fond of but he didn't really care. He put in a box and had it sent over to Caroline's with an invite to their ball. He sat down on his bed holding the note Fiore had left, wondering if what Kol had said was true. He cared about his Blossom, his fairy tale ending too much, especially considering she didn't do the same for him. He tore up the note into little pieces and began to tear up his room in anger before Esther came in and stopped him.

"Niklaus, what are you doing?" Esther asked him. She had looked genuinely concerned and Klaus had decided to confide in her.

"It's Fiore." He whispered.

"Ah" Esther said as she sat down on his bed.

"I hurt her and now she won't take me back" Klaus said, his voice hardly audible.

"Do not fret my son, it will all be over soon."

~Fiore POV~

"What do you want?" I grumbled. I woke up to the incessant buzzing of my phone and answered Caroline's call.

"Were you asleep? At 6pm?" Caroline asked me completely shocked.

"Don't judge me love, it's very uncouth" I said defensively. I liked to sleep, it wasn't a crime and I refused to let her treat it like one.
