I sat in a classroom along with Damon, Stefan, Klaus, Jamie, Jeremy and Bonnie. She sat there in frustration as she tried to undo the boundary spell Esther had put in place. We remained there waiting for her to complete the spell with only the sound of her chants to be heard when Matt walked in.

"People are walking right out of the dance." He told us to the pleasure of Jeremy.

"Matt and I can leave, we'll just stop Esther on our own." Jeremy stood up confidently, ready to go and fight Esther but he was also stupid. Esther would kill him with ease, Klaus knew that and his eyes immediately lit up at the thought.

"Oh please, be my guest." Klaus said, smirking at Jeremy.

"Don't listen to him." I told Jeremy whilst simultaneously scowling at Klaus. "That's a suicide mission. Esther can kill you from where you are now, imagine how easy it would be for her when she can see you." After hearing my words, he sighed and sat back down. He squeezed my hand and in the corner of my eye I saw Klaus glare at us. I instinctively pulled my hand away, I did so gently so Jeremy would think nothing of it but Klaus knew what I was doing and he smiled slightly. The little things, those were what truly mattered. Those little things were what made an eternal life bearable.

"What's taking so long?" Klaus roared impatiently at Bonnie, bringing me straight back to the reality of things. She ignored him which only angered Klaus even more. He was going to do something stupid as well now. No one seemed to be thinking about the consequences today, just one more side effect of a teenage dance—reckless behaviour.

"So be it." He grabbed Jamie by the throat and lifted him off the ground. The boy kicked and scratched but it was futile. Klaus could have a stake in his chest and he would still overpower him. "Either your magic speeds up or I start killing people you fancy. Keep in mind, I don't even know this one and I pretty much hate the other one." He said turning back to glare at Jeremy.

"Let him go." Bonnie shrieked.

"Klaus, don't be stupid Bonnie doesn't care about us, you start killing her friends then we're all screwed." Stefan shouted at him but Klaus still refused to let go. He continued to strangle the boy and now the kid was about to give up the ghost. I sighed knowing that I had to intervene. I stood up and walked up to him and said exactly what he wanted to hear me say.

"Let him go, Nik." I said as I stood beside him. "You don't want this, you want her to hurry up and she's not going to if you hurt people she cares about. Wouldn't you do the same?" He looked at me and rolled his eyes but nevertheless, he dropped the boy on the floor. "Thank you." I said, kissing his cheek. I saw him smirk in the direction of Jeremy and immediately felt bad for the poor sap. If anyone knew about falling for the wrong person, it was me.

I quickly went to sit back down next to Jeremy but he refused to look at me. He got up and left but I really didn't have time to deal with another tantrum. There was a more pressing matter that needed to be dealt with. This boundary spell was infuriating especially since I could leave but not without clueing the others into my special abilities.

"Bonnie, what's happening?" I said as I walked up to the desk where she was mostly failing to negate the effects of the spell.

"Esther is blocking me, it's like she's at a hotspot, channelling it or something." Bonnie said trying to remain calm and cancel the spell. Her frustration was as apparent as Klaus' discovery. His eyes lit up when he heard her mention the hotspot.

"I know where she is. Rally the human troops, we've got a witch to hunt." Klaus said determinedly, he was going to kill his mother. Again.

"Wait." I called out to him. "Promise me that you won't let them get hurt."
