"Okay, I think that's good for today. I'll be back tomorrow, with a lawyer, and then we can continue talking," Ethan said, standing from his chair. "I know just the girl to get for your case. She's the best of the best, I promise."

Tom let go of my hand, and walked with Ethan out of the room.

"Oh, and Jordan?" Ethan called from the doorway. "Get some rest, okay?"

I'm going to have to face James in court, for two different cases.

"You did good," Tom whispered, placing a gentle kiss against my forehead. "Tucker and Sonja are here... Mark's plane just landed."

"They flew out here to see me?"

"Of course. We all care about you, you know that..." Tom's voice trailed off, as he wiped one last tear from his face. "Right?"

"Yeah..."

"I'm gonna get Tucker and Sonj."

I rested the back of my head against the headboard, trying to sort out my life.

I've been gone three months.

"Hey buddy," Sonja's soft voice cooed. She smiled weakly at me, sitting on the windowsill.

"Hi-" my voice was cut off by Tucker's body slamming against mine. "Tucker?"

His body convulsed against mine, his lanky arms pulling me close to his chest. A shot of pain flooded through my arm, as I tried to lift it to hug him back.

"I'm sorry," Tucker's sobs were muffled, as he pushed his head into the crook of my shoulder.

"For what?"

"My last words to you would've been 'I'm not done talking to you,'" Tucker mumbled, pulling away from my body. "I'm such a dick."

Laughing quietly, I shook my head, remembering the ridiculous fight I had with Tucker before I got...

I pushed the awful memory away from my mind.

"You're not a dick. It's okay."

Looking over to Sonja, I held my arms out to give her a hug too. She awkwardly shuffled over, her arms crossed over her chest.

"Jordan, Tucker and I-"

"We weren't gonna tell him today," Tucker interuppted, wiping at his damp cheeks.

"Tell me what?"

"Tucker and I broke up," Sonja blurted out. "We still care about each other and stuff... I just thought you should know."

"Oh," I mumbled. "I-It's... It's not because of me, is it?"

"No, Jordan, it isn't because of you," Tucker immediately said, sitting on my bed.

"Of course not," Sonja's words quickly followed.

Taking a deep breath, I tried to figure out all this new information.

"Jordy?"

"DON'T CALL ME THAT!" I shouted, my voice ricocheting off the walls. Tears immediately poured down my face, as images of James' lanky fingers clutching onto a knife pierced my thoughts.

"Jordan, it's oka-"

"DON'T CALL ME THAT AGAIN, PLEASE!" I sobbed. "PLEASE!"

As I looked around the room, my friends disappeared, and the only person left was James. My attacker. My predator. My captor. My enemy.

Kicking my legs out from under the covers, pain flooded over me, sending fiery stings all through my body.

James' figure grabbed ahold of my body, shoving me into the bed.

"Jordan," James' mouth moved, but it wasn't his voice. "Jordan, listen to me."

James' face melted away, revealing the face of my doctor.

"Jordan, you're safe now," my doctor murmured, injecting a syringe into my arm.

"I-I'm sorry," I croaked out, trying to calm my heart. My vision blurred as I looked around the room. Tom was being held back by a nurse, fighting against them with tears rolling down his face. Sonja and Tucker were being pushed out of the room, their wide eyes staring at me.

"T-Tom?" I whimpered, as the room began to spin.

"It's okay, Jordan. You're okay..."

I let my doctors words lull me to sleep.
