Me: You're 14, what do you know?!
Tori: Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

I hear the sarcasm in her voice, and she gets off the bed and walks over to the nearby couch. She pulls out her phone immediately, then silences herself.

Who cares if we didn't use a condom? It's not like we planned to have a kid. We just didn't remember... Well, at least I didn't.

Did he?

*Tori's POV*

I honestly don't know why I tried to call her out on stuff. She's stressed and scared. She doesn't need my ass creating drama.

But I still wonder. As Nicholas Sparks as it sounds, them not remembering to use a condom seems...wrong.

Well, Tyler is an idiot so I wouldn't blame him. But Mackenzie is an overthinker. A worrier. She would totally have remembered.

Or...maybe she wouldn't. She's a lost cause when it comes to Tyler. She could have 40 other things to deal with and she'd just sit with Tyler on the couch or in his room. Tyler usually protected her. He made sure she didn't off herself or run away.

I don't know what to think.

Sitting on the small couch in the hospital room, I take out my phone and open Skype. Looking at the time it is, I know Tyler would probably be getting up and going to call Mackenzie soon.

Might as well warn him.

Going into our conversation, I type out:
'Hey Mackenzie is in the hospital now. They're watching to make sure her blood pressure goes down and that she doesn't have any more contractions. She's fine, they think it was false labor. Don't freak out on her.'

He replies almost immediately. 'I have my cell on me now. I'm gonna call you.'

It takes about three seconds for my phone to start ringing, so I answer it, heading out to the hallway.

Tyler(overly worried): What do you mean, she's in the hospital?!
Me: I mean she's in the hospital. Calm down.
Tyler: Calm down?! She's having my kid and-
Me: She's not in labor! At least, they don't think she is.
Tyler: How do they not know-
Me: She woke me up this morning and told me to get Mom, so I did. She was having contractions but they slowed down and they don't think they were real contractions. False labor happens all the time. But they're keeping her here to see if her blood pressure stays elevated or goes down.
Tyler: She has high blood pressure?
Me: Well when you get her pregnant then jump on a plane to train for the Marines, yeah, she has high blood pressure.
Tyler: You're so annoying. Put her on the phone.
Me: She has her laptop. Talk to her on Skype.

I'm so done with his attitude. I hang up.

*Mackenzie's POV*

I watch Tori get up and leave the room without telling me where she's going. I pull my laptop out instead of thinking it over.

Hell, I wouldn't wanna sit with me either.

I open my Skype to see if there's any messages or missed calls, which there's not.

Why hasn't Tyler sent any messages? What's so important? He always sends at least a goodnight or good morning message. But after a few minutes, I get my answer.

Tyler's incoming call pops up on my screen and music rings out. I answer it then watch as Tyler's face comes into frame. Even just seeing him calms me down a little.

Me: Hey.
Tyler: Tori said you're in the hospital.
Me: Yeah. I'm okay though. Don't worry.
Tyler: Well you're not just in the hospital for nothing.
Me: How much did your sister tell you?
Tyler: All of it.
Me(whispering): That snitch.
