Chapter 26 - No more lies

Eric's PoV;
Ro looks at me and asks
"Eric?"
"Yeah?" I reply
"What really happened you in erudite"

She is my girlfriend she does have a right to know.But I don't know if I can.
But I have to,she trusts me and I trust her.She brought me to her dad and hers old place and she never brought anyone else there.

I take a deep breath.
"I didn't have the best set of friends back in erudite.They were not the nicest people.We did some bad things and I..." I trail off.

Ro puts her hand in my shoulder.
"It's ok continue"

"I was with them one night and we took something.
I eventually found out that it was cocaine and got addicted.
My mother kept me inside and didn't even try to help me.
I was on the verge of dying and she didn't care.
When I came to dauntless I changed my ways and became clean.
My father was abusive.Not in the sense of hitting or punching,but verbally.
He would call me 'stupid' and 'useless'.And would tell me how worthless I am.

And the worst part of all is that my mom is Paula Matthews,Jeanine's sister."

I say.I notice that I am crying slightly so I rub away the tears.
Ro wraps her arms around my waist and I cry silently into her shoulder.

"It's ok it's ok you have me now it's ok"she whispers calmly in my ear.

I eventually stop and look her in the eyes.She must think I'm the weakest person in dauntless.
Crying,That's for wusses.

"I love you" I say and pull her in for a kiss.
When we pull away she looks me in the eyes
"I love you too" she says and lays her head on my shoulder.

No more lies,I can be honest with her and she won't treat me any different.
She doesn't care about my past,She cares about the new me.

She doesn't look at me for who I used to be,but for who I am now.
She doesn't care if I was a druggie and an alcoholic teenager,she cares that I am her loving and caring boyfriend now.

She loves me for me,and I love her for her.

We sit like this for a while,Staring at the waterfall in silence.Then I speak.

"Ro why do you love me?" I ask and she looks at me.
"What do you mean?"
"Well you are so beautiful and could have any guy at dauntless with the snap of your fingers,why me?" I ask

"Same for you.You are a dauntless leader and you can have any women at your mercy within seconds." She says and I laugh.

"But they would be in it for the money" I say and we both laugh.
"Just so you know,I'm not in it for the money" she whispers in my ear and kisses me on the lips.

Rosanna's PoV;
We have been here for about an hour and decide to go back out to the guys.

"Where have you been?" Mar asks
"In there,why?"I ask.
"Some Candor guy just came up to Zeke and wanted to fight him.Zeke said no and the Candor guy started to punch him.
Four stepped in and pushed him away.
He ran around the corner" mar says and I look at my brother.

He has a bloody nose and just smiles at me.
"Zeke you ok?" I ask.
"I'm good" he says and I nod.
"Is he still around the corner" Eric says,as if he read my mind.
"Yep" Lynn says and I look at Eric.

I look around for a weapon and I find a metal
Pipe.

"Be careful" Uriah says
And I nod.
Eric comes with me and we walk around the corner.
I see a boy standing there,leaning on the wall
"I heard you punched Somone in the nose?" I say and he nods
"Good hit,right?" He says.
"Excellent one,except there is on thing wrong." I say and l look the boy in the eyes.
"What's that?" He asks.
"You did it to my brother" I say and hit him across the face with the pipe.

He screams out in pain and we decide to leave it there.The boy falls on the ground in pain and Eric asks him
"You thinkin of swapping factions this year?"
"Yeah,dauntless"
"Stay in Candor your not cut out for dauntless."   Eric replies and kicks him in the gut.

He yells out in pain and Eric goes to walk away but I look down at the boy.
"What's your name?" I ask
"Joshua monark"he replies.
"Have a good life Joshua" I say and Eric sniggers.

Eric and I walk around the corner hand in hand and back to the guys.

"What happened?" Lynn asks and I show them the bloody pipe.
"That's my sister!" Uriah says clapping me on the back.
"Nice kid actually" I say and Eric laughs.

Marlene just looks at him in shock
"Wait did you just laugh?" She says seriously.
"Yeah I am a person too."he replies and everyone laughs.
Eric joins in and I just take a look at us.
We are all getting to know each other.This is good.

"Guys we should head back" Zeke says and we all agree.
We take our towels and flip flops and get on the train.
I sit down and I'm shivering.Eric sits me on his lap and I start to warm up.

"#relationship goals" tris says and Four looks at her with false hurt in his eyes.
"Sorry Hun but you have never did that for me" she pouts.

Four pulls tris onto his lap and she laughs.

Zeke has barely said anything the whole time,I'm worried about him.
He really hates Eric,I mean despises him.

I know that Eric isn't the nicest person,but he loves me.And I love him.

"Ro" Eric whispers into my ear so just I can hear.
I look at him and he looks over to Zeke and Shauna who are sitting in the corner.
"You should go and talk to him." Eric whispers again and I realise he's right.

I nod and make my way over to Zeke and Shauna.

"Hey Ro" they say
"Hi Zeke can we talk?" I ask and he nods.
We stand up and walk into a different train car.

"Watcha need" Zeke asks and I look at him seriously.
"Are you ok?" I ask and he looks at me funny.
"Yeah,Why would you ask that?"he plays dumb.
"You have been quiet this whole day,What's up?" I say and he just takes a deep breath.

"I just don't know how to take to this.I mean,it's your choice who you date and everything but after Zach I don't know what to think.
I will have to live with the fact of Eric and you" he says and I just smile.
I pull him in for a hug and say
"Thank you"

"It's the least I can do is let you be happy" he says.

We realise we have reached the compound and jump out of the car.
I reunite with Eric and my friends.

We all walk back to the compound and we leave Four and tris at their apartment,Then Zeke.
Then we come up to Erics apartment.
The others wait a little bit down the hall for me.

I look Eric in the eyes and say
"I have to go now"
"No....stay" he pouts and I laugh.
"But initiation..." I say and look at my friends.
"I'll wake you up in time to get ready.Just grab a pyjamas from the dorms and come back up.
We can even watch a film?" Eric says and I am convinced.
"Fine.Ill be right back" I say kissing him on the lips.
As I turn around and walk away he squeezes my butt.

"Eric" I say in a warning voice.
"What?" He says innocently.
I laugh and run back up to my friends.

We go back to the dorm and I pick out my pyjamas.
I begin to walk out of the dorm.
"Where are you going?" Mar asks

I smile sheepishly.
"Oh ok have fun" she says
"Not that kind of fun!" Uriah says and Lynn laughs.

I head out and make my way to Erics apartment with my pyjamas in my hands.
