Chapter 34- Rankings

Rosanna's POV;
I head over to uri and mar and like mar said, they saved me a seat. Uri looks at me in shock and at my dress. "Ro, you look great!" He says and I smile. "Thanks uri" I say as I sit down. I look up at the stage as the screen turns on. Eric walks up to the mike and taps it to see if it's working.

"Hello everybody today we are gathered to view the rankings of our 2045 class of initiates. We will show the 6th place,then fifth,then fourth going till first. Ok just sit back and try to relax." Eric says and he walks off to the side.

6th shows up and it is Mary Anne. I look over to where she is and she looks disappointed. She makes eye contact and I just give her a sad smile. I have never spoken to her, nor do I want to. She doesn't seem like someone I would make good friends with. She is an amity transfer. She is a strawberry blonde with long luscious waves. She has fair skin with freckles and hazel eyes. I look back at the screen as fifth place comes up.

Marlene.

I look over at her and she seems happy. She never expected to get any higher. She doesn't want a big fancy job. I smile at her happiness and look at uri wrapping his hand around her. I lock my eyes on the screen again. 4th place shows up.

Lynn.

I don't even bother trying to look around and see her. I know what she's doing. She's doing a little scowl because she got the third lowest score. She will be leaning on her ass of a boyfriend and envying whoever gets higher than her. Why did she have to go out with that dick?!?

3rd place, josh.

I'm also not going to acknowledge him because he is an asshole.

It's now up to the last two places. Me and Uriah. 1st place 100 percent belongs to a pedrad. My dad will be proud. The question is, what pedrad?

The white number two shows up on the screen and then the name follows.

Rosanna.

I smile. I can't believe I came second in initiation. I'm so proud of myself. I hope my father would be proud too. I look at mar and she smiles so hard I think her teeth might snap. I smile back and look back up at the screen. 1st place Uriah pedrad.

I look over beside me at Uriah and I grin. He smiles too and I hug him. Mar hugs him too and Eric gets back on stage as well as max. Max takes the mike. "We will see you all at the party now and tomorrow at 12:00 noon the job ceremony will take place in this same space." He says and everyone stands up. Zeke runs over and hugs me and Uriah. "First and second I couldn't be more proud of you two!! And mar great job. Guys you all did so well!!" He says and we grin. I see Eric approaching and he wraps his arms around me. "Second place! I'm so proud" he says and I grin into his shoulder. "You know... I got second place in my class" he says and I look at him. "Actually no.. I didn't know that" I say.

"Hey guys are you coming?" Mar asks referring to the party. "We'll follow you, see you in there" I say and they walk off. Eric looks at me in confusion and I smile. "You...are about to meet my mother" I say dragging him by the hand. "What if she hates me?" He says as we near the apartment. "She'll love you!" I fire back. We arrive at the door and I knock. "My mother opens and looks at Eric. At first she is in shock. She lets us in and I sit down and so does Eric. "Hey honey" she says and looks at Eric. "A leader ,huh? Look at you" she says messing with me, causing Eric to go red. "Hello Mrs pedrad, just think of me as her boyfriend not leader" he says smoothly and my mother grins. "Do you love her?" She asks and i look at her with angry eyes. What is t with my family and pushing love gestures on my poor man? "Yes Mrs pedrad, I do" he says and she grins even more "okey dokey, then I'm ok with this!" She says and I hug her. "Thanks mom" I say. "Ok Guys you better get to that party we can catch up another time." She says walking to the door. We follow her and I walk out. "Nice to meet you mrs pedrad" Eric says reaching out a hand to shake. "Shake hands? Shake hands? Ha bring it in" she says and I laugh. Eric bends down and hugs my short mother. "Goodbye" she says as Eric walks out and he chuckles "bye" he says and I grin. I look at my mom. "If you want us to stay..." I say but she stops me. "No I want to be alone. But the next time your here alone I want to hear all about him" she whispers and I laugh. "Bye mom" I say and she waves us off.
