Target.
-Crimson Blade-
Part 1
"Stop! By the order of the Noir guard!" Their voices shouted behind me. I smirked beneath my mask. They are such idoits. I sprinted across the rooftops, still holding the fresh loaf of bread I had stolen from a food stand in the kingdom's market. It was tucked safely under my left arm, while in my right I clutched my blood red sword.
I grinned as I saw the kingdom's gate before me, and I let out a shrill whistle. A loud whiny was heard as my horse, Kage, appeared beneath me. without a second thought I jumped down off the rooftop, landing perfectly on Kage's back. I nicked his sides with my boots, and he took off at a speed no other horse could match. Right as we raced out the gates, an arow embedded itself in my left shoulder. I let out a groan of pain, but kept ridding. Soon, we where in the Black forest, a place I knew they wouldn't dare follow.
As soon as the shouts of the guards were no longer heard, I jumped off Kage's back and tied his reins to a tree. I winced when I moved my left arm, the arrow was still embedded in my shoulder. I grabbed it by it's shaft and pulled it out. A small groan escaped my lips from the pain. My shoulder was now bleeding freely, turning my black robes scarlet.
I quickly took off my silver cloak, which wasn't covered in blood, and threw it over Kage's back.
"What have you done?"
"What needed to be done." I stated sarcastically, turning to my little brother who was waiting for me in the small clearing.
He sighed, and then gestured to my robes. "Take those off they're covered in blood"
I did what he told me, leaving me in only my pants and mask. I pulled it down to, so it hung around my neck. I took in a long breath, turning to face Jason.
"Turn around" he ordered and I did. "Damn this is deep. Hold still" he muttered.
I hissed when I felt him pour ale on the wound. "Stop moving!" he half yelled.
"It stings Jase!"
"At this rate, your going to be dead before your twenty-fith birthday!"
"I'm aware Jase."
He was silent as he began to wrap the wound in white bandages. "There." he stated backing away "Try not to move it to much though"
"Thanks" I replied pulling out my dark blue robes from Kage's saddlebag and pulled them on carefully. "Here" I tossed him the bag of bread. "give that to Natasha"
He caught it and grinned. "She'll be very happy with this. Oh, almost forgot, she asked me to give you this."
I caught the small glass bottle in my hand and sighed when I saw it was the pain killer I had to take for my left leg. "Tell her thanks for me"
He raised his eyebrows at me. "Your not coming home yet?"
"I have another assignment" I replied.
"You know, Lilly is waiting for you" He stated, leaning against a tree.
I sighed. "I know. Tell her I will come home soon."
"Allright but really man, she needs you more than any of us do."
"I know" I whispered. "Believe me I know."
Flashback:
It was nighttime, and grey rain poured off my clothes and onto the ground. lightning flashed across the black sky, casting shadows on the side of the Noir's wealthy houses. Darkness flashed across the streets, no one was out. They feared the dark, but it was my domain.
