The Crimson Blade

Chapter IV

Jason.

-Rayn-

How long must I pray,
Must I pray to you?

How long must I wait,
Must I wait for you?

How long till I see your face?
See you shining through?

I'm on my knees,
Begging you to notice me.

I'm on my knees,

Father will you turn to me?

"Wake up!"

I groan.  Maybe if I ignore her, she'll shutup.

"Rayn! I know you can hear me!"

Well there goes that plan. Maybe if I throw something?

"Ow! I'm not a target you ass!"

Nope. Okay,  how do you make a teenage girl shut her face? You slap them. My mind advises me. But she's to far away! I groan.

"Dammit Rayn! GET UP!"

Okay, thats it.

I stood up from my place on the ground, whipping out a throwing knife from under my robes. Without even looking at her, I flung it towards the tree 'princess loudmouth' was tied to. I heard a satisfying Shink, along with a gasp of surprise, and I smirked knowing the knife found it's mark.I turn around to face her, my eyes filled with hate and coldness. A thing I had worked on over the years. It struck fear into her heart, I could see it on her face. My knife was lodged a centimeter above her head, sunk hilt deep in the bark.

I slowly walked towards her, my glare still in place. She was looking at me with wide eyes. When I reached her, she looked up at my 6,4" frame, eyes glazed with worry.

I slammed my gloved hands on each side of her head, and she let out a squeak of fear, shutting her eyes tightly.  I bent down, my masked face next to her ear. "Don't yell at me" I whispered,  sending small tremors through her her body. "And don't wake me up." I backed away, and pulled the knife out of the rough bark.

She opened her amber eyes wide. I reached out, and traced her cheek with the knife. She let out another squeal before snapping her eyes shut again. I pressed the cold blade to her neck, causing a thin line of of scarlet to run down her shoulders. She let out a small scream at the pain, and I instantly covered her mouth with my hand. "If you do it again," I warned softly, "This knife might find it's way into your heart. do you understand?"  She noded quickly. "Good" I stated, putting the knife away.

"What time is it?" I wonder aloud.

"Do you really think I know?" she snapped.  I sent her a warning look. She smiled sweetly back.

I looked up at the sky. "It looks like it's about twelve-thirty" I guessed.  Wait. Twelve-thirty? "I could have slept at least thirty more minutes!" I glared at the princess. she opened he mouth to say something, but under my glare snapped it shut.

The next few hours were filled with boredom. I couldn't eat in front of her because of my mask, and my stomach decided to keep reminding me that it could not go forever without food. I had half the mind to blindfold her like I should have done hours ago, but Jase would be here soon. And he wasn't so approving of the way I treated my captives. Not that I actually cared what he thought but, I really didn't want to endure the speech about 'having fun'.
