Chapter XV
-Amelia-
It's black eyes wonder the room as it surveys the surroundings. It climbs up the wall with a squeak and I shiver. I hate rats.
The cold room they have placed me in has no windows, and only one dirty old door. The floor is covered in a deep layer of dust. Not a single piece of furniture lays anywhere, and the room is very small. The only light comes through a crack in the ceiling, other than that the corners of the room are pitch black.
Rusty chains with cuffs hang from the ceiling, along with a pair on the floor. Dried blood is caught between the links and I gag.
I don't want to think about what they used this room for.
I have been alone in this dark room for hours, with nothing to think about but him.
How could he just leave me?
I thought he actually cared, that he actually had a heart.
Assassins don't have hearts, they are trained to not feel anything.
I remember Terrance telling me that, but I had never believed it.
How can someone not have a heart?
Surely he felt something, right?
He said he was making a different call, was this better than death? I didn't know, I had been alone far to long.
My own heartbeat picked up as I thought of Rayn, and I clutched my chest, trying to convince myself that this feeling was not real.
But it was.
I had feelings for Rayn, maybe not that deep, but still there.
And he had left me.
That feeling, that doesn't go away just did.
And I walked, a thousand miles to prove it.
And I'm caught, in the crossfire of my own force.
The color of my blood is all I see on the rocks.
As you sail from me.

I don't remember falling asleep, but I woke when I heard the old door scrape against the dirty floor.
I picked myself up off the floor and backed to the farthest corner, which wasn't much of a difference.
The man that stood in the door was clothed in purple, and had gold rings on his fat fingers. I could see the outline of someone behind him, but wasn't sure.
His dark eyes glinted something terrible, and I could smell the overwhelming sent of wine mixed with heavy colne.
I shifted under his eyes, clearly uncomfortable.
"Oh dear, why are you in here? I told those wretched guards to put you in your bedroom!" His voice was deep, and seemed kind enough, but I could her the hint of cold in his pitch.
