Lydia stared at Stefan who stood ahead of her. Stefan stared right back at his sister. "I told you already." Lydia exclaimed uncrossed her legs as she leaned forward on the couch watching Stefan who poured her some rabbit blood.
Stefan heard about what happened with Lydia last night. How she tore through the bodies and created a massacre. So, he and everyone else agreed to keep her on a strict blood diet. Hoping she doesn't go off the rails.
"Right. You said you were fine, but are those innocent people fine? No. So drink up." Stefan demands, walking to his little sister handing her a small glass of animal blood.
"I'm not drinking bunny blood." Lydia refused shoving the glass back to Stefan.
"If you're going to refuse we are just going to have to take precautions and throw you into the cellar." Stefan said, again he offered the glass.
Foots steps echoed throughout the room as Elena entered. She froze in her spot looking between Stefan and Lydia. She pursed her lips as she looked away from the strawberry blonde, "I'm sorry. Damon had just told Alaric no one was home otherwise—"
"No, uh, we just got here." Stefan excused, moving slight closer to Lydia hoping she wouldn't attack Elena.
Lydia felt the heat rise to her face. Her jaw starting to hurt from clenching it so hard. She felt her claws dig into her palms. She growled lowly, her eyes flashing gold.
Elena was taken back for a moment but she expected that reaction from the hybrid. She deserved it, she had betrayed her friend. She had pushed Lydia into deaths arms because of what Esther had told her.
"I-I just came by to pick up this book that Stefan found on my ancestor Samantha." Elena spoke. She chose her next words carefully. "Lydia, I just want you to know that I'm sorry – truly. Esther, she told me things and I was stupid enough to believe her. I'm sorry."
Lydia shook off Stefan's grip as she walked up to Elena. She looked at her up and down before fixing on her eyes.
Elena froze at her icy stare. It put her at unease.
"I don't believe you. You're a manipulative brat – just like Katherine. You string both of my brothers along for your own enjoyment. You turn them against me. You are dead to me, Elena Gilbert." Lydia huffed, before she walked past her making sure her shoulder pushed Elena's when she walked out.
Elena regained her balance as she looked over to Stefan. The tension was thick in the air. She cleared her throat, "How are you doing? Damon said that you were—"
Stefan cut her off, "Yeah. I'm,uh, I'm okay." He then looked down at the book in her hands. "Did you get everything you need?"
Elena glanced down before nodding. "Yeah." She stared at him, her heart clenching. "Well, if there's anything I can do to help..." She trailed off as she turned away going to leave.
Stefan spoke up before she could go any further, "You don't have to read that, you know." Stefan offered. He had already read over the book, so he could just save her the time and just help her. "I can just tell you what happened."
"Samantha Gilbert was committed to an insane asylum. She tried to give herself a lobotomy with a knitting needle. And bled to death on the floor of her cell. If the same thing is happening to Alaric, then there's nothing you can do." Stefan explained.
Alaric had died to many times with the Gilbert ring on, there's always a price to pay when you cheat death, and now it's catching up to him.
Elena nodded, a small smile appeared as she closed the book. "Okay, well, I'm going to let you get back to, uh, whatever it was you were doing." She referred to the blood bag on the table in front of him. Then she left.
