Lydia riffled through some clothes and checked her phone screen as it blinked with Caroline's number. Her lips tightened as she accepted the call, "Lydia! Where the hell are you? You promised to help us set up the dance since Rebekah bailed."

"Caroline, I'm so sorry but I need to find a stupid dress for this stupid dance okay?"

"I thought you said you had plenty of stuff?"

"I do. But the problem is that I hate all of it." Lydia sighed, setting the phone on the floor. As she threw some dresses around her room. "I'm only going to this stupid decade dance for you, so cut me some slack okay?" "Fine. Check in with me." "Will do." Lydia ended the call as the door bell rang. She let out a grown brushing the hair out of her face as she stood up using her speed as she got to the door in a second.

She swung the door open only to regret that action. "Klaus. What do you want?" Lydia huffed walking away from the door, Klaus following after her. His hands folded behind his back as he gave her a sweet smile. "Good afternoon to you too, my love." "I'm not your love. We are merely acquaintances since you've saved Caroline's life."

He nodded, "Ah. So glad that you remembered that moment because I would like to ask you to acquaint me to the decade dance my dear little sister is holding tonight."

Before Lydia could respond her eyes closed tightly as another memory flashed came alive. It was a memory of her and Klaus. They were dancing together, obviously at a ball. Lydia felt as happy as ever as they swayed to the music, laying her head onto his shoulder.

She opened her eyes pushing aside the memory of her soulmate. Part of her didn't want to feel that way, but the other half was begging to just let the feelings take over. She was at a crossroads, little flicks of images had been coming back to her making her crave that type of love Klaus and her old self shared once. But she didn't remember enough to make her go for it.

"Are you alright?" Klaus took a step forward his hand placed on her lower back make her jump slightly from the contact. She nodded her head afraid that if she spoke with words she would have stuttered. She didn't want him to see her weak. Especially, if he made her that way.

She was surprised herself at what happened next. She was sure Klaus was too.

"I'd love to go to the dance with you." The words spilled from her mouth before she could stop herself. But once she saw the smile growing on the original's face and the spark that was blinking like a siren in his eyes. It made her a little glad that she wasnt being so stubborn at the moment.

He gently grabbed her hand placing a kiss on the back of it. "I'll meet you there." Lydia promised, before she walked back to her room leaving Klaus to find his way out on his own.

Lydia took a deep breath as she fixed the black feather clip in her hair. She ran her hands along her short black dress that was cover in sequins. She took a deep breath before walking into the dance. Teens scattered as they danced along to the 20's music playing. She looked passed all the happy teenagers looking for him.

"Lydia! Wow you look amazing." Caroline smiled running up to her bestfriend. Lydia grinned at the blonde in front of her. "You look beautiful, Care." "Come on." Caroline grabbed Lydia's hand, "Come dance with us."

Lydia went along with Caroline for a while as she dance with Bonnie and Bonnie's date as Caroline danced with Tyler. After the song ended a slow dance started. Lydia cleared her throat stepping to the side, she was obviously a little hurt about the fact that when she finally agreed to go with Klaus he doesn't show up.

Caroline looked away from Tyler at Lydia who was by the punch. "I feel bad." Caroline pouted slightly looking away from her bestfriend back to her boyfriend. "About what?" Tyler shrugged. Caroline motioned to Lydia who stood by herself. "She's by herself. I forced her to come and she doesn't even have a date.. Dance with her for this one song."
