"Who's going to watch Hayvan if you got to go and fucking work while I go continue school, fuckery." I yelled at Bryan who was about to go off to work.

"You have to take your maturity leave with her. You have to with her, breastfeed—" Bryan tried to argue, but I yelled louder, "Are you fucking mad! I have to go to school and graduate to support this little nigga! And are you forgetting that Oliver can pop into this shit and find his daughter here! Then her life will really be in danger, so let me pump my fucking breast to put into bottles for you so that you can feed her and take your maternity leave! I'm not leaving from school because you aren't going up to your promise!" Bryan looked at me like I've done lost my mind. I don't give a shit though! As much as I don't want to leave Hayvan, I need to get my ass to school before I'm taken off the roaster completely for being absent so many times!

"Alright, let's get a babysitter, then." Bryan suggested, but I sucked my teeth and picked up Hayvan from her carry-on car seat.

"You know what, fuck you and that babysitter that you had in mind. I'm going to Jolene's house and she gone have to watch her little niece!" I yelled before grabbing the apartment keys and walking out of the door and towards the elevator. I heard the door open back up before the words, "Keisha, Jolene doesn't know that you gave birth because I didn't tell her! The last thing that she told me before I stopped texting her is that now Oliver goes through her phone cause he's suspicious that she is seeing another nigga! Basically going to Jolene's place is like suicide because she lives with Oliver and that would be really stupid of you to go and give Hayvan up when Oliver is there."

I stopped in my tracks and looked at Hayvan who was sleeping peacefully in her car seat. Oh my gosh, if I took another step onto the elevator, I would not have heard Bryan tell me the dangers of going there in time, and I would've basically put Hayvan's life, and mines, in danger.

I turned around, looking at an angry Bryan, with my eyes full of tears before walking over to him and hugging him, sobbing. I almost put my little girl's life in danger because I'm an annoying piece of shit.

He stroked my hair gently before whispering into my ear, "Don't worry, I understand that you want to finish school to support Hayvan, but sometimes you need to sacrifice some things for your child, like I did with you." I cried harder into his chest, followed by Hayvan's loud sobbing. I got off Bryan and looked at Hayvan's glassy light brown eyes that now turned a golden brown color similar to Oliver's. So that's how her eyes look when she cries. Wow, how ironic.

"I'm going to go calm Hayvan down while you go to work. I'll just text Peppy all day until you come back since she sneaks her phone in class all the time, anyways." I confirmed with Bryan, but he gave me a look before lecturing, "Just make sure that as much as you keep your eyes on your phone, you do the same amount with Hayvan and the front door."

"Yes, sir!" I said in a military manner while saluting. He laughed and mumbled something under his breath before walking over to me and kissing my forehead, causing my face to get hot. "I'll call when I get the time, don't worry. Also, don't open the door for anyone, even Jolene because then Oliver might come here looking for her." He told me, making me salute again. He walked over to Hayvan and kissed her forehead before whispering something into her ear. Then she almost instantly stop crying and give him sleepy eyes. Her eyes are truly beautiful when she's tired. They look like a lighter shade of brown with some dark brown highlights.

As Bryan was about to leave, I asked him, "What'd you say to quiet her down, I have to use it sometimes." Honestly, with the amount of crying that I take every day from Hayvan, I would just love to know where the mute button is.
