Jen POV

It's another day today and I am not too thrilled to go to school. Josh and his friends are going to give me the worst time after he came to my house yesterday, uninvited.

I get dressed, pull my hair into a loose braid then go downstairs to have breakfast.

"Mornin' bud" Dad smiles

"Morning family" I sigh

"Here Jen we saved you some pancakes" Mom tells me handing me the pancakes

"Thanks"

"So homecoming is day after tomorrow!" Mom informs me excitedly

"Yeah"

"So I thought I could take you to the salon and get you ready there, do your hair and makeup" Mom tells me

"Yeah, sure"

"Ok then I'll book an appointment for you" she says

"Ok I gotta go now or I am going to be late. Bye. Love you guys" I yell while running to the door

I get to school sooner than I wanted to and start walking into school. I am soon stopped by someone standing in front of me who I can't see because I am looking at the ground.

"I loved your party yesterday" Josh says when I look up

"I-I need t-to get to c-class" I murmur

"No you don't" he grins bitterly "Remove your glasses, beautiful eyes"

"N-no I-I am good" I squeak pushing my glasses closer to my face

"Come on, blue eyes" he urges, before I can do anything he reaches forward and removes my glasses

"P-please don't b-break them" I beg

"Here you go, don't wear them though" he orders

I take my glasses from him, surprised he didn't break them and put them in my bag, I try to start making my way to my locker but Josh stops me, again.

"So homecoming huh?" he asks "Are you sure you are going to look stunning? Leaving every boy stunned, just like your mom said?"

I shake my head in a simple no, not trusting my voice because I know it's going to come out squeaky.

"Well, that's disappointing, don't you think? Your parents must be so proud of you knowing you have no date but you are strong" I know what he is trying to do, he is trying to break me and the sad part is, it's working.

"Your mom still thinks you are going to look stunning? She might tell you that because she pities you, but I don't. You are not going to stun anyone in that dance but I would like to see you try, so you are going to show up to homecoming" he threatens and I nod hesitantly

"I-I will" I choke out

"Good. Now you can go, blue eyes"

I run to the girls' bathroom just like yesterday and cry my eyes out in a stall. It hurts...what he said, I don't even know why he showed up yesterday at my house but now he knows what my parents expect so he can use that as a weapon to torture me further.

"Did you hear that Jennifer thinks she will look good at homecoming?" I hear a voice say. Jena.

"Really? No one even asked her, she is going?" Another voice asks
