Josh POV

Today is the weekend so I am taking Jen on a surprise date. I prepared a picnic basket, and some food to take to the park, that is close to our house. I prepare her favorite food and candy, then make my way to her house.

I get there and ring the doorbell, her father opens it.

"Hey, Gary" I smile

"Hey Josh! Come on in" he greets, "What's up?"

"I am here to take Jen out to the park. I was wondering if she could come?" I ask, nervously.

"Of course, son" Gary laughs, then calls Jennifer downstairs. "Jennifer!"

"Coming" she calls back, then runs down the stairs.

"Hi, Jen" I smile, and she blushes. I can't even tell you how adorable she is, fuck.

"Hey, Josh" she smiles, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear, moving her glasses a little bit.

"Josh is here to take you on a date" Gary tells her.

"Really?" Jen asks, enthusiastically.

"Yeah" I nod, "Is that okay?"

"Yeah, it's okay. Do you mind if I get my laptop, though?" she questions

"No, I don't mind" I shake my head.

"Okay, I'll be right back" she says, running upstairs.

She comes downstairs, changed out of her sweatpants into shorts, and with her laptop in her hand.

"Let's go" she beamed, walking to the door. "Bye dad"

"Bye, bud" Gary smiles, "Bye Josh, take care of her"

"Bye Gary" I bid, "I will. Don't worry"

Jen and I walk outside her house, I take her hand in mine, then start making my way to the park.

"So, why did you bring the laptop with you?" I question, looking at her.

"I just have some homework left, so I was thinking we could do it together. Or we can watch a movie or something" she smiles, turning to look at me. "That's okay right? We don't have to-"

"Sweetheart, I wouldn't have agreed to you brining your laptop if I didn't like the idea" I smile, "Relax, honey"

She sighs in relief, and leans her head on my shoulder. "I love you"

I smile, "I love you too" I turn my face to kiss her head.

We get to the park, and find a spot under a tree where we have shade, and a comfy place to lean against.

Jen and I sit there eating the food I made for her.

"So, why the sudden date?" Jen commented, after eating her PB&J.

"I wanted to surprise you, baby" I smile, "I knew you would be doing your homework and I wasn't letting you do that on a weekend"

"You do know, that's what weekends are for" Jen laughs, throwing her head back in amusement, which makes me smile.

"Who cares? I want to spend time with you, beautiful" I compliment, chuckling.

Jen looks around her, then points her finger to herself. "Me?"

"Yeah, you. You are beautiful, sweetheart" I confirmed.

"I am not, but thank you" she smiles, "You are really handsome"
