Chapter thirty-nine - Louis point of view.
I watched her as she slept next to me peacefully. It was six am on Christmas morning, and me being the massive child i am couldn't help but wake up early. I had been patiently laying in bed waiting for a sign that someone else was awake, but no such luck yet.
I felt kind of relieved knowing that Ruby had already met my mum and sisters. Even though i had told them not to wait up since we wouldn't be home till the early hours of the morning, they insisted. At least that was one less thing we had to do this morning.
'How long have you been awake for?' I heard her sweet voice from my side as she moved closer snuggling into me. I put my arm around her pulling her just a little bit closer.
'Only about an hour.' I replied looking down at her, she stared up at me with wide eyes.
'What its Christmas morning? I'm excited!' I said a little to enthusiastically for six in the morning.
'Well it looks like you're the only excited one.' She replied. I reached over to my bedside table picking up a small round box wrapped in gold paper.
'I'm going to give you this now, because i can't wait till later.' I said passing it to Ruby, her eyes lighting up. I watched her as she excitedly unwrapped it. She was so cute. Confusion covered her face when she actually opened the box.
'Um Louis, i'm too young to get married...' She said as she looked up at me. I just laughed.
'As much i would love to get married to you, its not an engagement ring. Its a promise ring.' I said taking it out of the box and placing it on her finger. It shone in the sunlight. I applauded myself on a wonder full choice.
'Whats that mean?' She asked as she admired it.
'That means that one day i plan to marry you but until then i promise to be loyal to you. I promise that i will always be there for you, through thick and thin. Even if you are on the other side of the world. I will always be there to listen to you. I promise that when people try to bring you down, i will stand up for you and bring you back up. I promise that i will be the best boyfriend that i can possibly be.' I explained. I could be deep when i wanted to.
'I love you Louis Tomlinson.' She said kissing me, i kissed back instantly. How i managed to get a girlfriend this amazing, i will never know. But i'm positive i was the luckiest guy alive.

I heard my all too familiar ringtone coming from the other side of the room. I excused myself as i picked it up and left the room.
'How can i help you today Harry?' I asked in a serious tone.
'Are we meeting back in London at the house, or what?' Harry replied.
'We went through this a million times. We need to meet back at the house because Kyla doesn't know we are all going away so she is going to need more clothes, same with Ruby. So as we discussed, i'll see you back there around six pm tomorrow night.' I explained to him for the fifth time. I swear this boy didn't listen to a word i said half of the time.
'Okay cya.' He said before ending the call. I put my phone into my pocked and walked back into the loungeroom where i had previously left Ruby with my mother and sisters.
'So what did i miss?' I said jumping over the back of the couch next to Ruby. I put my arm around her pulling her closer.
'Oh nothing, Ruby was just telling us a bit about herself.' My mum said from the opposite side of the room. I looked down at Ruby and she just nodded.
'Have you ever just seen a random kangaroo? Like not at the Zoo or anything?' My sister Lottie asked. I laughed to myself, everyone seemed to have weird ideas about Australia.
'Yeah all the time! Since i don't live in the city, i live out in the country sort of there is the occasional random kangaroo. But we don't ride them, like everyone seems to think!' She explained. I was happy that she seemed to be getting along well with everyone.
'Thats so cool!' Lottie exclaimed.
Being home again made me realize how much i miss it when i'm away. There was just this nice feeling about being here that i didn't get anywhere else, not ever in mine and Harrys place.
'Louis, you never told us how you met Ruby!' My mum said suddenly with excitement. Why did people always want to know the story of how you met your partner?
'Well obviously we met when the band went on tour in Australia.' I said simply, watching my mums expression change.
'You know what i mean!' She replied. Before i could explain further Ruby had already taken it upon herself to tell the story.
'My friend Kyla and I had this plan for ages that when One Direction came to Australia we would do everything in our power to meet them. We heard they were staying at the Langham in Melbourne so we decided to go down and give it a shot. The receptionist was dodgy and believed our story. So we got up to the boys room, and as bad as it sounds we pretended we didn't know who they were and we had simply just gotten the wrong room. We got chatting with Liam and Louis joined him at the door and invited us in. And yeah it just went from there, we went to their show that night and showed them around Melbourne the next day.' She told everyone, i was surprised. I have never heard the full story, all i knew was that she pretended she didn't know us.
I looked over at mum, looking for some sort of approval. Seconds later she subtly gave me the thumbs up. I smiled, happy that even after hearing that she still approved of my girlfriend.
'Well i'm happy for you two, you make a cute couple!' Mum said, my sisters agreeing.
