Chapter forty-seven.

I heard the front door slam. It had been around a half hour since Ruby, Jazz and Niall had set off for the hospital, I wasn't expecting them back already. I decided it was best to go see what was going on. I made my way down the hallway, a figure at the end becoming more clear as i got closer. As i approached him i heard him sobbing quietly. I sat down next to him.

'Why are you back already Niall?' I asked. Like he hadn't heard me sit down next to him he jumped, looking up from his hands. His face was wet from his tears, his eyes red from crying so much. But he didn't reply. His head fell back into his hands as he continued crying. I knew it was pointless asking him anymore questions, he would tell me what was going on when he was ready. I placed my hand on his back slowly rubbing circles.

'She will be okay.' I spoke up. He looked at me his eyes more red than they were minutes ago.

'I couldn't do it Kyla.' He whispered looking away from me. I looked at him confused.

'You couldn't do what?'

'I couldn't see her. I ran...' He trailed off. New tears forming in his eyes. It was hard seeing him like this. Seeing someone so close to you in pain hurt, on top of everything i was already feeling in this situation.

'What do you mean Niall?' I asked, still kind of confused but catching on slowly.

'At the hospital, i heard her screaming and I...I panicked. I had no idea what i was about to walk into. I can't stand to see my girl in pain...' He trailed off once again. He couldn't even look at me. I felt tears welling up in my eyes.

'What kind of boyfriend am I? I can't even be there when she needs me the most? What am I supposed to tell her when she asks why i wasn't there? I don't know what to do!' He added as he ran his fingers through his blonde hair. I had no idea what to say to him, these kind of things didn't ever happen in my life.

'Just explain it to her. Mel is one of the most understanding girls i know.' I replied. I felt like i was lying to him. I quickly racked my brain for something else to say.

'How about this. I'll go get changed and we will go down to the hospital.' I said standing up. He looked at me unsure.

'You need to be there for her. I know its scary, believe me i know. But in the end you will regret it if you aren't there by her side through all this.' I held out my hand offering to help him up. He just nodded.

'I'll be back in a second.' I told him before i went off to my room. Harry was still asleep on the bed. I was a hundred percent sure i was the only one actually awake even though it was only 8pm.

'Where are you going?' A husky voice said from behind me. I turned around to see a sleepy looking Harry.

'I'm going with Niall to the hospital.' I said simply as i tugged on a pair of shorts. I could of sworn i saw a hint of jealousy in his eyes.

'I thought Niall was already down there...?' He replied pushing his hair back. He looked sexy with his hair pushed back.

'I'll explain when i get back.' I replied kissing him softly before walking out.

'Are you ready to go?' I said as i walked up behind him. He sat in the same place as before i left. But he didn't answer.

'Niall?' I spoke again as i got closer. Still no answer. As i finally reached him i saw that his face wasn't wet from his tears anymore. His eyes were shut, he looked peaceful. I didn't dare wake him. He needed some rest, he could just go see Mel tomorrow.

'Looks like i'm going by myself then...' I muttered to myself pulling out my phone. I walked out of the door sending a message to Harry.

'Baby, Niall is asleep on the stairs. Could you put him in his bed? He needs sleep. xo' I pushed send and continued on my way.

'Ah, are you here for Mel?' An older woman asked as i walked though the sliding door. I guess they didn't have many teenage girls in their care. I just nodded.

'Right this way.' She motioned for me to follow her. I followed her down a small hallway, multiple patients behind the white curtains that i passed. I absolutely hated hospitals, i felt so uncomfortable.

'Here we are.' The nurse said stopping in front of a pale pink curtain. I gave her a small smile and mumbled a thanks before she set off back to the front desk. I took a deep breathe before pulling the curtain to the side.

I had no idea what to expect..
