Rena was now in her 9month of pregnancy and Alex true to his word had stuck by her side, many nights when the cravings hit Alex would go for whatever she wanted whether it be ice cream, pickles or  whatever strange food item she wanted at the time.
  He stuck with her even when she went shopping for maternity  clothes.
Many times he wiped away the tears that fell when her clothes could not fit and she felt like a whale.
  Ian on the other hand refused to give up, he called incessantly wanting to talk but Rena refused to allow him to be near her.
  Her workload became too much so she passed majority of it off to her PA who gladly took the challenge.
  Alex went in on a day to day basis to oversee the business and report back to her.
Since this was her last month and the baby was due any moment Rena decided to do a little more shopping she took a taxi to the mall, while looking through the baby bibs aisle she felt a hand on her shoulder and turned around to come face to face with Ian Rena turned and was about to run Ian grabbed her "why haven't you returned my calls?"
"Take your hand off me, or I swear I will scream"
Ian stared at Rena and knew she was not joking he removed his hands from her shoulder "that is my baby you are carrying I have the right to take care of it"
"You don't have any rights to this baby, you will not come anywhere near me/my child"
"You must be insane, if you or Alex think you will take the privilege of me raising my child away you have another thing coming I will fight you with all I've got, as soon as this baby is born expect the unexpected"
Ian turned and left the store.
   Rena paid for the items and left the store immediately she didn't want to be in there in case Ian came back.
  Around 10 in the night Rena awoke when she felt a sharp pain in her stomach, immediately Alex's eyes flew open when Rena groaned.
"Babe what is the matter"
"I had a sharp pain, but it has subsided"
"Rena for the past few nights you have been having these pains, why don't you let me take you to the doctor"
"The doctor said I would be having these pains".
  Suddenly Rena had this urge to pee, when Rena got down from the bed water rushed down her legs " Alex, I think my water just broke"
Alex began to rush around the room collecting everything needed, he helped Rena change the dress she was wearing, grabbed the hospital bag and helped Rena to the car.
It took Alex an hour to reach the hospital, he ran inside to get some assistance.
An orderly came out and Rena sat in the chair,Alex walked beside her as they made their way to the delivery suite, Dr. Bradshaw met them.
"Alex you need to go with the nurse to get scrubbed, we'll take care of Rena"
Alex gave Rena a kiss and followed the nurse.
    The nurses immediately took charge of Rena they did all the preparations for her labour it wasn't easy on Rena as the pains were getting stronger and Rena was groaning loudly.
  The first stage of labor lasted for four hours Rena suffered through the contractions, Alex did his best to calm her but it broke his heart to see her in so much pain.
  The nurse came to check her and found she was fully dilated, they wheeled her into the delivery room.
  Alex remained by her side, Rena squeezed his hand, Dr. Bradshaw replied "okay Rena, you are doing fine I can see the head, one more big push"
"I can't do it,I am tired"
  Alex looked at Rena and whispered "I know you are tired but I am here with you, I love you babe now push"
The words said gave Rena the strength  she needed, with all her might she gave the final push and fell back exhausted on the bed.
   There was a faint cry, the doctors cleaned the baby and handed him to Alex "Alex what is it?"
"It's a boy Rena"
"Can I hold him?"
Alex gave the baby over to her and Rena couldn't help but smile when the baby opened his eyes.
"Oh my god he's so beautiful, I have a son"
"No we have a son" Alex replied and kissed her on the lips.
The nurses let her hold the baby a little longer then they took the baby to finish checking him,Rena was taken to the ward and Alex sat beside her as she slept soundly.
