On тнe ғιғтн day oғ тнe ѕecond weeĸ ѕнe decιded тo go тo тнe docтor and ғιnd oυт wнaт the proвleм was.
She called and мade an appoιnтмenт.
Aвoυт 3:30 pм Rena ғoυnd нerѕelғ ѕιттιng ιn Mr. Bradѕнaw'ѕ oғғιce.
" How may I help you today?"
"Well, for the past two weeks I have been nauseous,the smell of certain foods make me want to puke"
"Okay, can you tell me when your last period was ?"
"This would make it about 2 weeks since"
" Hmm,any sexual activity right after?"
Flashbacks of that night came and went quickly.
"Yes, I was raped"
" I see, this is serious if my assumptions are correct you might be pregnant, but just to make sure I will give you a blood test"
" Will this take long?"
"No"
The doctor proceeded to draw the blood, and sent it to the lab.
Rena sat patiently in the office awaiting the confirmation.
About 4pm the doctor came back.
"OK, I have some news"
"What is it doctor?"
"The blood work came back and you are definitely pregnant"
Rena broke down crying "oh my god what am I going to do?
Dr Bradshaw's heart went out to Rena "it is OK?"
"You don't understand, this baby isn't my boyfriend's own it belongs to his cousin"
"Oh"
"What am I gonna do? I can't have this baby"
"Think about this, go home, settle yourself and then talk to your boyfriend before you make your decision"
"OK doctor, I will do as you say"
" If anything here is my card and number, call me any time"
Rena took the card and left.
About 7pm Alex came over,made dinner but Rena hardly ate anything.
Alex could see that something was bothering Rena so after dinner Alex retired to bed, Rena followed him but sat at the edge "Rena what is the matter,come lie beside me"
"I am fine here Alex"
Alex laughed at what she said she had to be playing a game, no problem he would indulge her so he got off the bed and came around to her and reached out to touch her but Rena withdrew from him "babe, what is the matter?"
"Nothing,alex,i am fine"
"No you are not,you won't let me touch you, did I do something wrong "
Rena couldn't hold it in any longer the tears began to flow, Alex reached out and pulled her into his arms she came reluctantly "Talk to me babe,tell me what is wrong"
"Alex if I tell you,you might leave me "
Alex looked at her "Nothing could make me leave you"
"This just might,this is too much for anyone to bear"
Alex looked at Rena.
"Just tell me, what is the matter"
"Well I went to the doctor today"
"Yes,and?"
"I'm pregnant"
Alex began to smile "oh,my god I am going to be a father "
Rena removed his hand from around her "the baby isn't yours"
"What do you mean?"
"It isn't yours"
Alex got up from the bed "Rena tell me I just didn't hear u correct"
Rena knew to tell him the whole truth would break his heart "whose is it?"Alex replied and grabbed her arm roughly "Alex let go you are hurting me"
"If you know what is good for you,you will answer me right now"
"It is Ian's"
"What the hell did you just say?"
"The baby's Ian's"
Alex released her and she stumbled.
"How could you did this to me?"
Rena reached out to touch him.
"I didn't do anything"
"Are you out of your mind,did you just understand what you said"
Rena began to cry "I swear I didn't sleep with him"
"Well how comes you are pregnant with his baby,i know how a woman becomes pregnant, I am not stupid Rena"
" I never said you were"
Rena sat on the bed and looked at Alex "Alex the pregnancy isn't the worst part, I ___was ___ raped"
Alex turned and looked at her.
"Excuse me, I am not sure I heard you right"
" I was raped"
The news was so much for Alex that he sat heavily on the bed.
"But if the baby is Ian's, then are you saying Ian raped you"
Rena replied in a whisper "yes"
Alex's face turned red.
" I warned him to stay away from you and he wouldn't listen,i am gonna kill him"
Alex rose from the couch and started to walk to the door.
Rena grabbed Alex's arm "please don't leave Alex "
Alex turned and looked into her eyes "babe I need some time to think"
Alex left.
Rena fell onto the bed and wondered what Alex was gonna do.
