Miscarriage

A few months had passed and the animosity only got worse between alex and Arielle.
Rena was tired of it all.
She decided to take matters into her own hand,the threats from Ian were becoming incessant and honestly they were two adults both the parents of Nathan and she had no desire to see her son go through this mental turmoil.
At 3pm Rena dressed, prepared Nathan, called her best friend over, kissed him and they left.
Alex,rena and Ian sat at the dining table "now,i have called you over here to put this thing to rest I honestly don't want it to go more further than how it has gone"
Ian looked at alex and Rena "I am sorry but you have already taken it too far by refusing to allow me to see my son"
Alex replied"what do you honestly expect,for god sake you took advantage of her,she became pregnant and since Nathan has been born you have done nothing but hurl threats and say you are going to take her to court,how could you expect her to let you see her child"
Ian slammed his hand down on the table "correction our child and you are refusing to allow me to spend time with him,my cousin's name is on his birth certificate how do you think that makes me feel"
Rena looked into both their eyes and saw the animosity still raging in their eyes,for two family members why couldn't they forgive and move on these stubborn men were the cause of everything happening and if she didn't intervene now she could see fists would start flying soon she reached our and touched alex "babe, you are my heart and I love you,you know I always follow your decisions but this time I have to do otherwise, I must allow Ian to spend time with Nathan he is his child and if we don't allow him to know him he will continue to make our lives miserable and honestly I am tired"
Alex was about to reply when his phone rang, the person told him Arielle was in the hospital and he needed to be there, alex sighed and got up from the table "I need to go"
"What is the matter babe?"
"Arielle has been admitted, something is wrong"
Rena stood up "I am going with you babe"
Ian did the same as well, Rena replied "where are you going?"
"With you guys I love that woman"
Rena gave him a puzzled look, he loved Arielle after all these years something wasn't adding up here,just then alex replied "I am going, if you want to come so be it" and they all left.
They arrived at the hospital an hour later, Rena and Ian sat down, alex met with the doctor who told him they were taking Arielle to surgery they were going to try to save her and the child but honestly it didn't look good "in a case like this if it gets dire, who should we save"the doctor replied
Alex said "save the child"
Ian jumped out from the chair "save the mother"
Alex looked at Ian as though he had lost his mind, the doctor settled the issue " I will try my best to save both" and left to prep for surgery.
Alex and Ian stood glaring at each other,rena replied "why don't the two if you sit down this isn't the time or place for your egoes"
They took their seats and waited.
Hour after hour passed and Rena watched both men,each looked like they would loose their minds.
The doctor finally came into the waiting room, they both rushed to meet him "is the baby OK?"alex replied
"Is the mother of?" Ian replied
The doctor could see the determined look on both their faces "the mother made it,however the child was still born, I am sorry"
Alex broke down,ian on the other hand replied "can I see her?"
"Sure,just be aware she is sedated and might not be able to say much, she is in room 201"
Ian and the doctor left.
Alex collapsed and Rena embraced him "she lost the baby, rena"
"It's OK baby I am here for you let it out, let's go home"
Alex and Rena left the hospital.
Meanwhile inside the room, Ian sat beside Arielle's bed and grabbed her hand,she opened her eyes " Ian, what are you doing here?"
"Where is alex?"
"He should be in the other room with rena, how are you doing?"
"I feel like I got hit by a truck"
"Where is the baby?"
Ian contemplated whether to tell her the truth but he knew only to delay it would only make it harder for her"you lost the baby"
Arielle broke down in tears.
"You see what I was saying now, all the stress and strain caused me to lose my baby, my child suffered because of me"
"Arielle,come on, you have done nothing wrong"
"Yes,i have I should've told you no, but because I was too weak I let you drag me into this vendetta and my innocent child suffered because of you, but you know what, it is time for me to do the right thing, when I get out of here I am telling alex the truth and clearing my conscience and I am leaving you"
Ian replied "you can't leave me I love you I will be nothing without you"
Arielle reached out and touched his face "I love you too but it is time, we do the right thing".
