Months had passed and Rena had neither seen nor heard from Alex.
Ian on the other hand called constantly wanting to talk,but Rena ignored every call, she simply didn't want to speak to him.
Rena tried her best to concentrate on work,eat right and retain a calm persona but it was hard.
This pregnancy was taking its toll on her,thank god the nauseousness had somewhat abated.
Today in question was hard on her as she had tossed and turned all night trying to keep her last meeting with Alex out her mind.
At about 4 pm she found herself sitting in the doctor's office for her 3 month check up.
"Goodevening, Rena how are you?"
Rena had been dreading this point of the Convo with the doctor, with a sigh she replied "as good as can be"
"Hmm"
"Ok, Rena I need you to get up on the table and lift your shirt I need to see how the baby is progressing"
Rena did as was instructed,the doctor smeared some jel on her stomach and moved the instrument around on her stomach, a picture of her baby came up on the screen,she could not believe she had this little life growing inside her.
"Well I can see everything is in order and the pregnancy is coming along nicely if all goes as plan you should be having this baby in December"
"Would you like a picture of the baby?"
"Yes I would"
The doctor gave her a tissue to wipe the jel off and printed the pic for her and returned to his desk to make notes and wait for her to fix herself.
When Rena was seated comfortably the doctor replied "rena , what really is the matter?"
"I am fine doctor"
"No you are not, you can't hide from me, the signs are there in your body language, you are depressed, now I don't have to tell you how important it is for you to be relaxed at this point, this baby needs its mother to be healthy and of sound mind"
Rena broke down in tears.
"I know doctor but I can't help it, I miss him so much"
Dr Bradshaw offered Rena a tissue, he could empathise with her cause he knew what it felt like to be in love "dry your tears,now I don't usually do this for my patients but you have somehow grown on me, give me this Alex's number, I will call and talk to him in the meantime, I am putting you on a strict healthy eating plan and get a lot of rest"
Rena gave him the number.
" Thanks doctor,i will"
She took the prescription.
"See you in two weeks for your next check up bye"
"Bye"
Rena left the office.
