We disembark from the jet; I take a deep breath. Tonight's concert is going to be crazy. I know it already. Am I ready for this whirlwind? I promised myself not to start feeling this way. But Prince had me at hello. I can't believe it will soon be over. Prince will go back to his life in his complex; I will go back to mine.
"Welcome Boss, the car is over there." I hear his drummer and also his assistant who looks out for him say. Prince firmly holds on to my hand. It might be late but even at that, we have on our dark glasses. Believe it or not, there is a mysterious vulnerability to Prince; I now realize he is very guarded about the people around him.
"Prince, this way. Prince." The paparazzi got called out from behind a fence. Prince waved and ushered me into the car. We drove towards the Verizon Center for his concert.
"You know I just realized. I know you dance very well. Do you play any instruments? He asked as the sped down the highway.
"Yes, I reply. I play the guitar and the piano.
"See it is great to hear more about you." He said making me laugh once more. But who was I fooling?Today will be our last night together. We arrive at the Verizon Center and as instructed Prince disembarks alone. I get driven towards another entrance.
I felt a tear drop fall run down my cheek.
"Get it together Alex, get it together," I say to myself.

I could already hear the thunderous applause coming from the audience as I open the car door. I hurriedly make my way towards the stage door. I walked in through this door, got seated on stage away from the crowd. I could see them but they could not see me. I watched Prince perform his magic; he turned to see me, winked and gave an infectious smile! I smile back. Jill was already on stage; his twin dancers danced around him. I enjoy the show until at the moment when he yells from the stage,
"Everyone I want to meet a beautiful lady; she is amazing she plays the Guitar",
"Can you please come out wherever you are let the world know what I am talking about!" He motions to me.
What? I couldn't believe it I have never played for him. What? The stage assistants usher me towards the stage with screams and yelling from all around.
"I walk towards Prince, he hands me a guitar while still singing and playing his.

He whispers in my ears; they want to hear you jam. Make it happen, girl!"
I do as requested of me, play a few bars of his song and the crowd screams, when suddenly I hear a bass guitar.
I turn around; my eyes meet Jill's again!
Prince walks up to Jill "jam girl jam!"
He says. She looks pleased as she rolls her eyes at me!

I handed Prince his guitar and angrily stomped off the stage and back to my seat. I placed my hands on my face and began to cry. This guy is going to break my heart! Get it together Alex. I see Prince turn in my direction and whispers:
"you okay?"
I nod, he continues playing.
As soon as the concert ended, Prince rushed to be by my side. He kneels next to me wipes a tear away from my eye. "You were great out there Alex, why the tears." I wanted to respond when I see a pair of boots standing next to me.
"Prince hon, aren't you going to introduce us?"
Prince looks up and then back at me.
"Jill meet "Ale.Athena" He says still looking into my eyes. "The greatest artist, known to all,"
I smile, Prince sure has a way of building a girl's self-esteem up.
"Well if she is how come I have never heard of her?" Jill asks with her hands folded.
"A great artist is hard to meet, besides now you have," Prince says to his feet. Before she could respond, the twin dancers walked up to us smiled as usual and said: "Hi there."
"Hi, ladies meet Athena."

"Yes fantastic" the other one continued
They lifted my spirits by telling the most incredibly funny jokes. Jill turns around fuming "Prince don't forget once we get back home to Princely Park, you and I have a lot to do."
If she wanted her words to hurt me, they sure did. It made me realize this was it, our final night together. I may never hear from him again.
"It is time to go now," he says pulling me up, taking my hand to a waiting vehicle heading back to the airport. During the ride Prince was silent.

"Yes you can, you did well this weekend. He says placing the check in my hand.
I rest my head on his shoulders. "Think of it as a blessing from above," he said pointing upwards.

"Yes Athena," he smirks and makes a funny face which made me laugh. As soon as we got on the plane ready for takeoff, I looked out the window misty eyed.
Can I have a kiss? He said trying to cheer me up.
"No, I reply playfully.
"Please?" he begged and wouldn't stop until I gave in. This kiss felt like pure heaven. I didn't want it to end..I wondered this was our last night. Will we make love when we get back to the hotel or here on his plane? Yes, I am calling it love. I am such a liar; I am falling for him, and now there is no going back. What is a girl to do?
