I sat in the room holding Caden as Lex slept. He was calm and just chilling. He has hazel eyes just like Lex. He's finally here.

"Can I see him?" I heard Lex ask. I got up and carried him to her. She was exhausted, it was all over her face too.

"You should get some more rest." I said

"Where is Ci Ci?" She asked

"She's with my mom." I said as I pulled the chair by her bed side

"Chris..." She trailed off

"Yeah?"

"I love you." She said as she turned over

"You too bae." I smiled to myself. She hasn't flaunted the word around in a minute, but I love when she says it. A few minutes later, the nurse came and took Caden back to the nursery and that's the last thing I remember of the day.

"Chris?" I heard Lex's voice, "Chris get up." I jumped up and was in pain

"Ah." I whinced from the crook in my next

"Baby, are you okay?" Lex asked

"Just my neck. How you feeling?" I asked sitting beside her legs

"I'm still tired."

"I know. You can finally rest though." I said rubbing her hand with my thumb

"Thank you." She laughed

"I'ma head home and go shower and change. Done wrinkled up and sweated out my favorite shirt." I said

"Okay." She looked at me as I kissed her

"I won't be long." I said walking out

Alexis

I was feeding Caden when he walked in. I didn't pay him any mind until he spoke.

"Yo." He said as I was shocked to see him, "Came to see you and little man."

"What are you doing here Keith?"

"I just came to check on you..." He trailed off, "Where's Kenya?" He asked

"She's staying with relatives." I said

"Where is he?"

"He's on his way back." I said

"I ain't mean for things to go down the way they did. I just wanted to see how you were doing..." He trailed off, "I'ma go. Don't want any problems." He said backing away and walking out the room.

"Mama." Ci Ci called as I picked her up. Today I was leaving the hospital. Chris has been bugging out since I told him Keith stopped by.

"Chris, can you please calm down?" I asked as he looked at me as if I called him a bitch.

"You ready?" He asked grabbing Ci Ci from me and picking up Caden.

"I guess." I mumbled grabbing my bag. The car ride was silent. As soon as we got home, I went upstairs to the room to get some rest. Hospital beds are not as comfortable as my own. I was laying across the bed, few moments later Chris came in and laid down next to me. He put his head in the crook of my neck. I looked at him as his eyes were closed. My baby.

* 2 weeks

"Chris go get Caden." I nudged him.

He has been fussing all night these last 2 weeks. His crib was on Chris's side of the bed... There was more space.

"Why you crying?" Chris asked

"See if his diaper needs changing." I said

"Oooh shit." Chris mumbled

"Watch your mouth around my baby." I said

"His ass stank."

"Chris... I'm warning you."

"You act like they ain't gon cuss anyways. They gon have they moments."

"I'll kick your ass if you don't stop cussing."

"How you gon cuss at me ?"

"I just did. Now hurry up and bring my baby here."

After he was done changing Caden, he brought him to me and I laid him beside me. Gave him a bottle and he was on his way back to sleep.

"How long do I have to wait?" Chris asked as he wrapped his arm ariund me.

"A while."

"That's too long. I'm getting lonely over here."

"Sssh. I'm putting Caden to sleep."

"You better be glad I love you." He mumbled

"Shut up for I chop him off."

"Why would you even say that? You know you love him. Matter of fact, you miss him too."

"Doesn't mean I gotta play with him every time he wanna play."

"Give him some type of attention please." He said

"If I do that, I'll be on my way with another child. I don't wanna go down that road again for a while." I said taking putting Caden's bottle on my nightstand.

"What you saying? You ain't tryna have anymore of my kids?" He raised his voice a little but lowered it when I looked at him.

"I'm saying that, we ain't married and you don't even have a real job."

"Why you always tripping about my job? I'm paying bills ain't I? Baby, look. I know you don't want me in this life, but you gotta accept it. It's my only way of providing for you and our kids." He said, "Do you hear me?"

"That's the same reason why I will not be able to bring another life into this world." I said

"So you refusing to have sex with me cause of our kids?"

"I am done with this conversation Chris." I said as I made sure Caden was safely on the bed. "Goodnight." I looked at him and kissed him.
