CHRISTMAS EVE

"Baby, I don't understand why you didn't do this yesterday." I said following Lex in the toy aisle at Wal-Mart.

"You know I try to be perfect at the last minute. Don't start with this." She said grabbing toys on the damn near empty shelves.

"We got the kids enough stuff for Christmas bae." I said as she turned and looked at me. "What?" I asked.

"Make me knock you into next year." She said before leaving the aisle. We headed to the registure and paid for the toys and headed home.

"I'll be back." I told Lex before pulling off. I headed to the warehouse. Dion and Mike were there chillin'.

"See Lex let you out for the night." Mike said smoking a blunt.

"I let myself out." I mumbled before taking the blunt from him.

"It's Christmas Eve bruh. Don't you think you need to be home with your family?" Dion asked.

"I ain't in the mood to be there right now. Why ain't you home? Key normally blowing yo shit up." I said.

"Her and DeAndre should just be landing. They went to New York." Dion said.

"Why ain't you go?" Mike asked.

"We got into it two nights ago. This been planned for a minute though." Dion said.

"Y'all talk about me and Lex." I mumbled.

"Where Marshall at?" Dion asked.

"Ashley got him until tomorrow." Mike said messing with his phone. "Sevyn wanna go out tonight." He said out of nowhere.

"Where to?" Dion asked.

"You messing with her now?" I asked.

"Somewhere and no! We just friends." Mike said.

"Nigga yo ass be head over heels for her." Dion said.

"Man, she just my homie. Ain't nothing going on between us." Mike said. It was around 2 when I decided to go home. After smoking a few blunts and feeling good, I left. I got the munchies like a mofo. When I walked in the house, the Christmas tree was lit and the presents were already wrapped and under the tree. I headed towards the kitchen and grabbed the bag of Hot Fries we had, some chocolate frosting, and some peanut butter cookies. I went to the living room, flopped on the couch and turned on the TV. I settled on watching George Lopez before passing out. I woke up to CiAira and Christian poking me.

"Presents." They both said.

After the kids woke me up to open their presents. I went and got Caden as I heard them downstairs waking up Chris. I was at the top of the stairs while Chris slowly got up and was pulled up off the couch by them.

"Presents! Presents!" They shouted repeatedly. Chris looked at me and quickly back at the kids.

"Go see what Santa got you guys." He said as they ran to the tree. He glanced back at me, when I looked at him, he put his head down looking at the kids. The kids loved all their presents. CiAira got a lot of dolls and doll houses while Christian got clothes and spider man toys. Caden just got clothes. There were still presents under the tree. They were for Chris.

"Here." I handed him the three boxes under the tree. He opened one of the boxes and was shocked because I got him the Gamma 11's.

"Thanks baby." He looked at me smiling like he was a little kid. I looked at him as he opened the other box and in that there was his new PS4 I got him. "You didn't have to do this baby." He said as I looked at him.

"But I did." I said. "Open your last gift." I said as he grabbed the last box. He opened it to find a Bulls Beanie with a pair of Retro 13's I got him a while back.

"How'd you get the 13's?" He looked examining the shoe.

"I got them when they released last month." I said.

"Come here." He said as I got up with Caden in my arms. I sat next to him as he wrapped his arm around me. "Thank you baby." He kissed my temple.

"Everybody's coming over for Christmas Dinner." I said.

"We hosting Christmas dinner?" He asked.

"Yes Chris. I told you this last week." I said.

"You did?"

"You don't listen." I said.

"I do."

"When you feel like it."

"No." He said as I looked at the kids playing with their toys.

"I don't wanna argue with you." I said.

"I'ma go shower." He said getting up.

When I got out the shower. I heard Dion and Key downstairs. I got dressed in a black pro club and my dark blue jeans with my Retro 13's. I put on my black Bulls snapback and two gold flat chains with my Gold watch Lex got me for my birthday last year. I grabbed the black box out of my shoe box in my closet and put it in my pocket. Grabbed my phone and headed downstairs. Lex and the kids were all dressed, she and Key were both in the kitchen cooking. CiAira, Christian, and DeAndre were all playing around the house. Dion was watching the basketball games on TV.

"Wassup D." I sat down on the couch.

"Who you coming out here looking fresh for?" He laughed dapping me up.

"Nobody." I said.

"Who this?" I asked looking at the TV as the Heat and Lakers played.

"Who won OKC and NY game?" I asked as I checked my texts messages to everyone sending me Merry Christmas texts.

"OKC. Melo didn't play today." He said.

"Still sitting cause of that ankle?" I asked.

"Yeah. My boy didn't even suit up." He said. "But I need my Lakers to beat the Heat." He said as he was too into the game.

"Heat gon win. Y'all ain't got Kobe." I said.

"I don't wanna believe that at the moment." Dion said.

"Look. Peep this out." I said showing Dion a picture of a ring on my phone.

"Who's that?"

"This is Alexis's Christmas present. She think I ain't get her shit for Christmas. She don't even know."

"When you gon give it to her?" Dion asked.

"At dinner. She thought I forgot about that. I just worked my way to her bad side for today." I smirked. "I'm gonna re-propose to her. The last one was shitty and she don't even wear the ring." I said.

"You bought if from a gum ball machine." Dion said causing me to bust out laughing.

"Hey, she said she wanted me to propose and I did." I said smiling at the memory. "I'm for real this time." I said examining the picture.

"I hope she says yes." Dion said.

"She better. I went all out for this ring." I said sitting back and thinking.
