RECAP:

Driving slowly in the darkened road, I glanced at my Volvo’s side mirror when a pair of headlight flashed behind me. I slowed down to let the other car pass but it stayed on my tail so I decided to reeved up my sleek car and it quickly shoot forward, leaving the other car behind and I sneak a glance behind me, only to see the other car accelerating and gaining at me until I felt it bump hard on the back of my car.

“What the fuck?!” I gasped as my hands tighten to the steering wheel while the safety mechanism of the car activated, halting its momentum by locking the wheels and tightening the seatbelt across my chest.

I looked back to see the black, heavily tinted car, back out before speeding away.

Visibly shaken, I laid my forehead on the steering wheel, breathing harshly as I tried to calm my erratic heart and after a moment of silence, the sound of my phone beeping attracted by attention.

I pressed the answer button without checking the caller ID, only to have my blood run cold when I heard a disemboweled voice on the other line and it got colder when I heard its message.

“Do you know they died the same way that you almost did a second ago. A single call was all it took to have them drive to their deaths and now, you’re next.”

“Who are you?” I asked shakily, my heart racing erratically in my chest as I tried to discern the caller but whatever he or she did to distort their voice works well because I can’t even distinguish if it’s a male or female caller.

“Your death..”

*************

I quickly assessed my surrounding the moment that I arrived at Elisha’s house; I automatically sensed that she was not here eventhough it’s already dark outside which was against what I warned her not to do.

Most of the supernatural creature prowls at night, especially at dusk and midnight, and with my presence here and the occasional of Fuxal’s, sent uneasiness to those creatures and an inquisitive one might decide investigate the reason why I’m here and ultimately learn about Elisha’s presence eventhough the smell of the oak wood pendant might have mask her scent, I can’t take it lightly.

I strode towards the kitchen and saw the Imps huddled in the corner, sleeping deeply while I can sense the hell-wolf’s presence on the far-off direction of the woods –he was probably patrolling the area and scaring off any creatures that were not supposed to be here including Fuxal.

I then heard the loud roar of coming from the driveway –her car and before I could open the door for her, she burst in and I can feel the terror coming from her and a whiff of blood.

I tried to stop her but she just brushed me off and purposely marched towards a large display cabinet then reached something from underneath and I heard I whirr of something mechanical until I saw a panel on the wall slide to the side, revealing a compartment behind it.

She reached something from the hollowed space and I heard a cocking sound –from a gun before she finally plopped down on the nearest chair with the gun clasped tightly on her hand.

That’s when I apprehended her current state, she was shivering very badly and the hand that held the cold steel weapon was shaking uncontrollably while she hugs herself with the other one,

“El?” I whispered while kneeling infront of her and cautiously took the gun from her quivering fingers but she resisted so I only managed to move it aside with the muzzle pointing down on the floor.

That weapon might not harm or kill me but that one will be fatal and deadly for her.

With my hand clutching her weapon-bearing hand, I visually inspected her for the source of blood that I smelt on her but there are no visible signs of it.
