“I think you overdosed her..” A voice –a female one, penetrated the fog of sleep on my head, rousing me up from unconsciousness.
“She will be fine. She just has to sleep the drug off her system.” Another voice replied –a male one.
I tried to open my eyes but they seem to be weighted down by lead as they refused to be open and drowsiness is threatening to take over my body once again as I fight off the on-coming unconsciousness.
“We finally got her.”
Then their laughter merged into one and they continue conversing with each other but I heard nothing but garbed words as my head throbbed painfully when I tried calling Thallan.
“Yeah, we finally did.”
Those were the last conversation I heard before everything went black once again.
*************
I once again tried to pick the locks on the cuffs that encircled my raw wrists, wincing in pain at every try, but to my frustration it won’t even budge and the worst of all, it dug and rubbed against my already bleeding flesh.
I haven’t seen anyone since I woke up and found myself tied to the wall with 3 feet long chain connected on the shackles on my wrists, giving me enough slack to move around the box of a room I was confined into.
The room was slightly dimmed and it was bare of everything except for a worn-out mattress on the floor and a portable toilet at the far corner, and I'm almost thankful that everything around me was clean.
I don’t know exactly how long I was locked in this place and I have no clue of who kidnapped me.
The only interaction I had with them was whenever they push a tray of food and water under the door, which happened in a succession of times.
I tried mentally calling Thallan but somewhat our connection was cut-off or something was blocking it which made me assume that whomever abducted me know or practice magic and all of its chicaneries, preventing me from calling him and him from finding me.
I wonder if he was looking for me or more importantly if he already knows I'm abducted by heaven-knows-who.
Is he still on Hell doing his job as a Keeper or is he hunting Fuxal?
I growled in frustration at the helplessness of my position.
First, I don’t know where I'm.
Secondly, I don’t know who and why they kidnapped me.
And lastly, the restrictions of this room suffocates me.
I was snapped out of my reverie when I heard the door rattling which never happened before during my confinement here, making me a bit apprehensive of finally seeing my kidnappers.
The short chains that held me captive in this room clank loudly when I walked as far from the door as the chain allowed me to and watched the door rattle more before it slowly open at the same time that a bright light flooded the room, blinding me momentarily.
Gasping sharply, I backed hard at the wall when I saw the man leering at me and panicking is just an understatement of the fear I'm feeling right now.
“A.. Adrian?!” My knees almost buckled at the trembling shock cursing on my body as I stammered his name.
It never crossed my mind that I would ever see him after our break-up and to learn that he was the one behind my kidnapping.
“Hello, Elisha. It’s good to hear that you didn’t forget me.” He sneered as he walked towards me.
