Caleb's POV:
The cold air kept blowing in as more and more people came in the house. Pretty soon, the place was packed. I looked around to see if Sydney was here yet, but she wasn't. I looked for Brennan instead.
I found him cringing at the taste of beer. He didn't really like alcohol, but it seemed like he was trying to fit in.
"Tastes kind of gross, huh?" I yelled over the talking and music.
"Yeah." He shouted back. He kept looking around too.
"Who are you looking for?" I yelled again.

Brennan's POV:
"Katie." I lied, knowing she would be with Annie. It was Annie I was looking for.
"Oh." He mouthed back. We were silent, except for the blaring voices and music around us. I felt a hand tap my shoulder. I turned to find Katie, beer in hand. I grimaced at the thought of the taste again.
"You seen Ans?" She shouted in my ear.
"No, I thought she was with you?" I yelled. She shrugged and walked away. I went downstairs, where the lights were all on and the music was less loud. I found Annie, looking around, looking lonely. I was about to walk over a talk to her until a group of guys approached her, and I stopped to watch.
"Hey babe." One said. I didn't recognize him.
"Not interested." She said, turning around. Another guy grabbed her butt when she did this. She swirled around to slap him in the face, but he grabbed her hand and pulled her towards him. He put his hands around her waist. She tried to get out of his grip, and he leaned in to kiss her. I walked closer and noticed it was a group I recognized. MY group! She pulled away and he pulled at the neck of her shirt. I walked in and punched him, and he fell back in pain. I grabbed Annie and unlocked my bedroom and pulled her in to safety. She sat down on the floor and I locked the door again. She started sobbing.
"Hey, Annie, your okay." I said, sitting down next to her. She leaned into my chest and I wrapped my arms around her. "It's okay. They're gone." I said soothingly. She only cried harder.
"I-I could-nt do anything." She said between sobs. "I tried to pull away but he wouldn't let-let go." Annie hi cupped.
"But nothing happened. They are drink jerks. I'm with you, and your okay." I reassured her, and she pulled me closer.
We sat like that until her sobs turned to light sniffles.
"All better?" I asked. She nodded and we stood up. I went to unlock the door.
"Wait. When we go out there, could you stay with me?" She said, rubbing the makeup from under her eyes away.
"Of course." I said, looking at my slightly red knuckles. I opened the door and locked it one more time. The guys- my friends- were looking at me in vain. I glared at them and followed Annie upstairs.

Annie's POV:
I was still in shock of what could have just happened.
We walked upstairs and the house was packed like sardines. You could barely walk from the couch to the kitchen. I reunited with Katie.
"What's wrong?" She said, looking at my noticeably red cheeks.
"I'll tell you later. But this is getting out of hand." I said while Katie swigged her drink.
"It's fine. There's only a few hours left anyways." She said, walking off to put her arm around a guys shoulder.
I looked around for Caleb, and grabbed Brennan's arm for him to follow me. I saw him in the corner talking with Sydney. I think they are secretly dating.
I almost tripped over a girl laying on the floor and turned to Brennan.
"It's crazy in here." I yelled. He nodded his head and I helped the girl up. She handed me a drink an walked away, falling somewhere else. I put the drink in the garbage and talked to Brennan again. All the sudden everyone was quiet and looked at the counter. Brennan pulled me over look at what was happening.
It was Katie, and she was standing on the counter.
"Okay. There isss an hourrr left. That all." She slurred. Before hopping iff the counter into the same guys arms.
"She's drunk." I yelled in Brennan's ear.
"Very." He agreed.
I looked over at the door and even more people came inside. It was midnight. People were climbing on the counters. There were cans everywhere. At the other parties, it was mainly our friends, and not half as many people as tonight. This was insane.
Another guy pulled me in towards him but Brennan pushed him, and he fell in the floor. He came in and tried to punch Brennan, but he was only about 4'11, and Brennan was 5'7. We shrugged off the matter and I took a deep breath. I mean, hey, I guess that meant I was good looking to drunk guys.
The guy then turned and punched a girl his height, and she kicked him. Soon more people were fighting, and the whole top floor was a giant fight. Brennan grabbed me and we went back downstairs, which was no better. Someone punched a hole in the wall where the couch should be, and there was yelling everywhere.
"The party needs to end. Now."
I said, holding Brennan's arm. Caleb and Sydney were standing next to us, doing the same thing.
"What do we do?" Caleb shouted, dodging a slap from a girl next to him.
Sydney pushed two people apart, and yelled at them to leave. They said no, and she leaned in to say something until they practically ran out.
"What did you say?" Brennan laughed.
"You don't want to know." She muttered. Slowly, we got most of the people out. The fighting was coming to and end and the party was just like before. There was only about 10 people left downstairs.
And that was the group that came after me. I nervously grabbed Brennan's hand, and he surprisingly let me. We all walked over to the large group.
"Parties over. Get out." Caleb growled. The guys just looked at us and laughed.
"Look who it is. The babe who was too scared to do anything, so her boyfriend had to come in. Pathetic." He laughed. Brennan punched his already blackening eye again.
This time, he punched Brennan back, in the stomach. They fought back and fourth and I didn't know what to do. Caleb the grabbed the guy off Brennan and I pulled Brennan back.
"Get out of here before I find my baseball bat." He muttered to the guy. The group glared and headed up to leave. We went upstairs and seen that all the people downstairs had just came up here. I screamed in frustration. Sydney walked over to the speakers and unplugged them, and Caleb turned off the lights. A few girls shrieked, but other than that, it was quiet.
"GET OUT. NOW!" Sydney screamed in a voice so loud I had to cover my ears. Slowly but surely, everyone started filing outside. As the last person left, I locked the door. All that was left was a passed out Katie and a bunch of beer cans.
"I should go." Sydney said, kissing Calebs cheek. He blushed and she walked out.
"A lot of those people were drunk. I hope most had Ubers." Caleb said, chattering his teeth. I looked around at the empty room. It was weird seeing it so empty now.
I woke up Katie. She reeked of alcohol and sweat.
"Kate, go shower." I said and helped her to the bathroom. She could barely stand on her own.
So, being her best friend, I helped her take her clothes off and get into the shower. I got soaked in the process, but now she was clean.
After she was dry and dressed I helped her into bed. She fell asleep almost instantly. I sighed and threw her beer smelling clothes in the washer, and changed myself into grey sweats and a white t-shirt. I walked out to see the boys, who were also changed. Katie was mainly the only one who drank. So we started to clean up, starting with beer cans. We put them in a bag to take to the dump tomorrow, and moved the couches where they belonged. There was some writing on the floor that I scrubbed off with acetone. And for the hole in the wall downstairs, we moved to the couch to where it should be to cover it. Lastly, I washed the floors, which were caked in mud and slush. It was looking just as it had before, but it still smelled like sweat. Caleb lit some candles and I sprayed Febreeze everywhere. We were satisfied, as it had only taken an hour and a half. We weren't sleepy, so we all settled down to watch a movie. Caleb had never seen the hunger games when we were kids, so we watched it. Halfway through, he fell asleep. It was just me and Brennan.
"Thanks for earlier." I whispered, leaning into him slightly.
"No problem. Anything for you." He said, blushing slightly.
There was an awkward silence.
"Do you- wanna, maybe go on a date with me someday?" He stuttered. Even though he was 18, it was cute.
"I would love to Brennan." I said, letting him put an arm around me.
"Tomorrow night?" He asked.
I nodded. How had I never noticed how much I liked him?!

Annie's POV was a bit long, but whatever. Hope you enjoyed💜
