Katie's POV:
I woke up being practically strangled by Annie.
"Annie!" I hissed, laughing a little. She shot up and unattached her arms from me.
"Sorry. Rough night." She mumbled.
"I thought you said the date was good?" I questioned her.
"No no, it was amazing. There was tons of thunder and lightning. I just couldn't-" she was interrupted by the shrieks of Caleb. We looked at eachother and ran downstairs, onto to be welcomed by water that ran to our ankles.
I ran inti Brennan's bedroom, Annie close behind.
"Guys! What happened!" I yelled, looking around the flooded basement.
I seen Caleb standing on Brennan's bed, covered in water.
"I woke up and went to go upstairs. Why is there so much water?" She said, waking up Brennan in the process. Annie and I just stood in the murky water.
"What happened?" Brennan murmured, rubbing his eyes.g
"The basement flooded!" Annie answered him. He stood up and into the water, yelping back to the bed in shock. "Get as much stuff as you can!!" He said, splashing into the cold slushy water. We lifted the tv, couches, and some of Brennan's things up the steep stairs.
"Well, I guess we can blame the hole on the flood now?" Caleb said, trying to brighten the mood a little.
"I'll call our mom. We should probably stay at our house, just to be safe." Annie said, pulling out her phone. She dialled the number and waited.

Annie's POV:
"Hello?"
"Hey mom. I know it's kind of early, but Brennan and Katie's basement flooded a bit."
"Oh no! Well, did you move furniture up stairs?" She asked me.
"Yes, we got almost everything except the tennis table and Brennan's bed and dresser."
"Oh that's horrible Annie. Do you want them to come here?" She said in a kind voice.
"Yeah. We'll pack some of their stuff and be over later. Love you." I finished, ending the call.
"Let's get you guys packed and you can stay at our house. Go start and I'll call your parents." I signalled and the two splashed upstairs.
"Hey, Ms. Jill." I said nervously. I hope this doesn't wreck their vacation.
"Hey sweetie! What do you guys need?" "Um, the basement flooded a bit. We got most of your stuff upstairs, except the tennis table and some of Brennan's furniture."
"Oh no! Mike, the basement flooded!" She said to her husband, but I could still hear her.
"How bad is it?" She said, teeth chattering slightly.
"It's up to my ankles. We're taking Brennan and Katie to our house until you get back." I said, feeling guilty. Caleb came next to me and signalled that he was ready.
"I have to go. We will try and get this figured out, so just try and enjoy your vacation." I frowned. I said goodbye and hung up.
We turned of the electrical and power, and washed our skin that touched the water. Caleb would have to shower once we were home.
"You're driving." I said, handing him the keys.
We ran to the truck through the water. Outside, it was much deeper, almost rushing to my knees. We got all the bags and hopped inside.
"This sucks." Katie whined.

Caleb's POV:
I drove carefully down the road and into the highway. Even the on the highway people were going very slow, as to watch for deeper spots.
After not long we were back home. I looked over at the river through the gate and noticed that it was flooding too.
Our neighbourhood only had water running down the streets, like it would in a bad rainstorm. We had that and snow, so it make lots and lots of water.
We pulled all the bags inside.
I ran to the shower. The dirty water could have sewage in it, and I didn't want to risk getting sick.
After I washed we all sat down with our parents.
"I'm sorry you guys have to go through this. It must be horrible." Mom pouted.
"It's sucks, but it happens. We will get it figured out I'm sure." Katie replied.
"Your mom told me she called the insurance company and they are getting this all figured out. You might be staying with us for a while." She went on.
"Anyways, we're going to get them settled in. Right guys?" Everyone nodded and we went upstairs.
"Katie, if you want you can stay with me but you could sleep in Hayley's bed or in the spare bedroom." Annie asked her best friend.
"I'll stay with you. Just don't strangle me" She laughed.
"Brennan? What about you?" I questioned him.
"I'll stay in the guest bedroom. Just... Where is it?" He finished. I showed him where it was, and to remember it was across from Annie's. I went downstairs to go on my phone.

Brennan's POV:
After unpacking my things I went into Annie's room to talk with her.
"What did you think of our date?" I asked. It's been bothering me; what if she didn't like the skating?
"I had a lot of fun. We will have to do it again." She grinned.
"How soon should 'again' be?" I smirked.
"Let me decide this time. We can go tonight to get your mind of that stupid flood. She declared. She kissed my cheek and pushed me out of the room so Katie and her could have their own time, so I headed downstairs to see Caleb. He was on his phone. I sighed and decided to go upstairs and choose clothes for tonight. I texted Annie for ideas.

(B=Brennan and A=Annie)
B- what do you think I should wear tonight?
A- casual. I'm not saying anything else😝

I shut off my phone and shuffled through my clothes. I ended up choosing some brown pants and a grey under armour hoodie (for once, his outfit is at the top) and left them on the bed. I really love Annie. I hope she likes me just as much.

The date will be next chapter. Very eventful these last couple chapters.
Imma take a break on updating for now. I'll probably have a chapter or two up tonight though.
Hope you enjoyed💘
