Caleb's POV:
My parents walked in the hospital room, turning in the light. I squirted at them with the sudden brightness.
My surgery is today.
I gasped silently as my mom squeezed my hand. Hayley came in a few seconds later.
We talked for a few minutes, but it went by quickly. After they left, Katie and Brennan entered.
"Where's Annie?" I asked them.
"She's...busy. She told me to tell you that she loves you and will see you soon." Brennan said, watching Katie slowly walk closer to my bed. She sat in the blue chair next to it.
"Caleb, you're gonna make it." She croaked, her voice breaking. A small tear escaped her eye. I wiped it away and held her small round face in my hands. I pulled her towards me for a lay kiss. In the moment, I didn't care if Brennan was watching or Mia would be angry. I was with Katie, kissing Katie, and I was going to make it through this surgery to be with Katie. Brennan looked speechless as we pulled away.
Suddenly, a doctor walked in.
"It's time, Caleb." He said, a small herd of other surgeons and doctors behind him. They laid my bed flat and started to wheel me away. I kissed Katie quickly as they wheeled me out the door.
I can do this. For Katie. For Brennan. For Annie and Hayley and my parents.
For myself. I will make it through this.

Brennan's POV:
I just stared at Katie's tears eyed face as the door to Caleb's room shut behind us. I was completely silent until we reached the car and the doors were locked. As we finally pulled out of the hospital and drove towards the house, I spoke.
"How long has this been going on?" I murmured.
"Since the accident." Katie said blankly.
"When are you going to tell everyone?" I asked.
"After the surgery." She said again, staring at the road.
"Are you okay?" I finished.
She stopped the car and pulled over.
"What if he doesn't make it? What if I'm alone without him?" She said, her voice on the verge of tears again.
"He's gonna be okay. And-"
"And if he isn't? What am I gonna do?" She said, a small tear landing on her lap.
"The you will have me. And Annie, and both our families. You have us to help you, if that were to happen. But it's not." I reassured her. She just nodded and pulled back on to the road. It was silent the rest of the way.

Annie's POV:
I sat down in the chair across from a younger woman with dark hair. It was pulled back in a sleek pony and she was wearing a feminine suit. She was quite pretty.
"So, Miss Leblanc. Tell me what's been bothering you." She says, clicking her pen.
"I recently got in a car accident with my boyfriend, best friend and brother. It's...it's put me under a lot of stress. So much that I actually haven't been eating very much. And my boyfriend wants me to start talking to someone." I started.
"Sounds like a very stressful time. How do you plan to lift some of this stress of your shoulders?" She asked.
"Well, there's not much to do. I'm hoping talking here will help."
"And how are you going to fix this eating problem?"
"My boyfriend lives down the street and I'm asking my sister and him to remind me to eat. I usually remember, but I'm just never hungry."
"Do you think this is caused by stress? Do you think your body is overweight?"
"Yes, I think it's caused by stress. I don't think my body is overweight, I'm a fit, strong gymnast." I finished. The counsellor nodded and wrote a few things down.
"Our session is over, but I hope to see you soon. Perhaps you can think of some more ways to patch up these problems?" She asked. I nodded before quickly grabbing my coat and leaving. I hopped in the truck and rushed through the cold into the hospital.
I ran inside and found my family in the waiting room. Hayley looked up at me, tired, baggy eyes. It was starting to get dark outside.
"Did he go in? How long is the surgery?" I asked quickly. Mom nodded solemnly and Dad answered my question.
"It's going to be six hours, we will be here a while." He said, rubbing his eyes. They had barely been here half and hour and were already tired.
"You can go if you want. You must be tired from the extra gymnastics." Hayley glared. She was obviously mad I hadn't been here to send him off.
"I missed a few days and Mary insisted I stay. After he's out of the hospital I can make it up to him." I scoffed back. I sat next to my family and waited.

Katie's POV:
I sat in my room wrapped in blankets staring at my laptop. I'm watching our old vlogs with Caleb in them. I giggled at a joke from Caleb and a tear escaped my brown eyes. I wiped it away as mom entered.
"Ooh you got your room set up! Looks even cuter in your new room." She chuckled. I stared at her and watched the vlogs some more.
"Look, I know your scared for Annie. But she can get through this. She has-"
I was filled with rage from this,
"I'm not scared for Annie! I'm scared for myself! The boy I love is getting cut open with a shiny blade for the next six hours and he might not make it through!" I shrieked. Mom stepped back.
"Katie, I had no-"
"Yeah, you had no idea. Maybe if you payed attention to me you would know." I cried. She watched me and left the room. She was speechless. I turned back to the vlog and watched Caleb hit a home run.
"Woohoo Caleb! That's my baby!" Miss Katie yelled in the background. More tears ran down my face.
"Hopefully you can do that again soon."
I grinned a broken smile.
He will make it. He will make it. He will make it.

I started school yesterday, but it was bittersweet. My bus rides are and hour long, and I ride the bus two times a day, so I'll take out at least an hour to write and the other to socialize and stuff. Hopefully I'll be updating more often.
Hope you enjoyed💗
