Marys Pov

I go downstairs and face the man that shot me. I know i kept bringing that again, but i never let someone who shot me scott free. He is a lucky man, not being in a body bag.

I.heard the voices that belonged to my father and that man.

I heard a few chuckles here and there. I guess this is my que to enter.

"Well i hope im not interrupting anything." I told my dad. He looks at me. I know this look. This look is full of love and i know he missed me. Of course, im his only living heir.

"Mary, Zebb here is my new student. Im going to give him the ropes of handling a business." He patts Zebadiahs back.

I only give a firm nod and i smiled. "Well dad i see the food is out there i hope you dont mind that if we start dinner, since i havent eaten since my flight."

They nodded and we started to sit at the diner.

"So Mr. Stark, Miss. Potts is a very lovely lady and shes a very smart woman.How did you become so lucky since your dating her?" Zebb complimented him.

My dads demeanor changed completely. I could tell something was wrong.
"Miss. Potts and I are no longer together. Shes still Vice President of the company and manages everything while im gone." He replied. He stared at me. I knew he wanted to tell me this, but in a private matter.

"Im.sorry to.hear that. Im sorry i didnt know this. Its just that you guys were civil to each other when i came to visit." He replied.

"Its alright, nobody knew." My gave him a small sincere smile. He then looked at the food. "I guess the cook gave us roast beef yumm." He looked at me.

I gave him a small smile.

"So Mary, how was it working with your father? Any advice or heads up before i start becoming his apprentice?" He asked.

"Hes someone you will thank in the end. I turned out great. So i have no complaints." I told him.

Zebb just nodds and smiles.
When we finished eating, Zebb thanked my dad for dinner and when he left i looked at my dad.

He looks at me. "I missed you kiddo. You look different, did you get any taller?" He asked me.

"Dad, ive been this same height for the past , uh i dont know, Nine years. What happened?" I asked me.

He looks at me. "I promised her i will stop building the suite and all this, but since i created ultron. She broke up with me. Its for the best for now.  Dont need to stress myself too much."

I walked towards him and hugged him. "Everything will turn out alright." I told him.

"Yea i know. At least i still have the only woman that still has my heart completely." He tells me. I hugged him tighter. I knew how much i meant to him.

"Thanks dad. Your the only man that i love. Well theres an exception." I tell him truthfully, but i laughed. He pulled away and raised an eyebrow. I think he. Believes it Was Caleb.
"Im talking about Uncle Rhode." I start to laugh.

"Well thats actually true. Rhode really sees you as his own since he doesnt have any family."

"Yea i know. He took me in while you were being taken hostage. He made sure Pepper looked after me while he was scoping out and looking for you." I informed him. I think Rhode never told him this. I guess he never wanted my dad to feel like he owes something to my uncle. Uncle Rhode never thought about that incident when he asked me how come i put him in the visitation list if it was for family members only, when my father was getting surgery. I told him because hes my uncle and your family in my eyes. I guess that got him to reflect more and realize that he does have a family to fight for.
