one direction's mate (a vampire story)

hi so this a poem i wrote for remembrance day. Please read and tell me what you think. this is an original poem wrote by me x

I don't regret going to war,

I just should of waited longer,

But I wanted to be a hero,

To make people proud,

 

I don’t want young boys going to war,

“It’s a big adventure” they all cheer,

But the truth is all you’ll ever feel is sorrow and regret,

Don’t join up until you see the papers,

Nobody can shield you from the gore,

 

If you listen carefully you can hear the groans of pain,

Bloodied bodies covered with rats,

It’s a horrid sight to see,

The blood,

The gore,

I wish I was home,

 

I’ve uncovered my fear,

Dying alone,

Hate sends shivers down my spine,

The government,

They did this,

Why…?,

Why…?,

Pain… empty… pain… completely alone,

 

That’s all I can think about,

There’s nothing to stop me,

There’s nothing to distract me,

Just me and no man’s land,

I’m alone,

What did I do to be condemned to this fate?,

GOD SAVE ME PLEASE!?,

YOU’RE MY ONLY HOME!?

Hello if you reading this then thank you for reading, so at school, we went to a place called Bowes museum and me and my class all had to write a poem about a solider at war, it was quiet hard to do but it was worth it. My friend abbie (octopusmice) wrote one to so check it out.
