Golden sky / sun-sprinkled smiles,
Iron rod heat / striking the back of your neck,
Flushed cheeks / fiery impetuous hearts,
Exhausted siestas / heliolater eyes,
Dry, thirsty mouths / dry thirsty minds,
Refreshing summer anthems / two months of no school,
Arctic sapota milk shakes / excruciating brain freeze,
White cotton shirts / borrowed sunglasses on,
Warm dreamy nights / abandoned blankets casting pleading glances,
Oh, how I wish / it was summer again.
