Screams ripped through the air as shields flickered as they were struck with power and blades flashed under the lights. An exorcist feel next to me and I dragged his body out of the battle and into the forest where the healers took him. I stood up and wiped the blood off my hands on my pants. I saw Kagami surrounded by my clan and a team of exorcists as they battled their way towards the castle. We were finally pushing them back, ash was kicked up from the footsteps and wing beats of the defeated demons and I saw a few with unsure looks on their faces. They had fought hard but we were working together, exorcists and demons alike and they didn't stand a chance.

"Akashi, Kagami said to make your way to him, he is about to break the line and says you need to take the chance to charge in and find Kuroko before it's too late!"

I looked up and saw Aomine walk over, blood around his hands and mouth and splattered on his chest. Confusion must have been on my face because he simply pointed off to the trees and my heart sunk when I saw that the horizon was lit up with the rising sun. We had been fighting through the night and the day of the eclipse was upon us. I followed him until we were next to Kagami's group. The red head nodded at me and ordered his people to surge forward. The handful of demons in the way fell under the onslaught while the others that tried to move away were burnt by Kagami's fire. I didn't wait for the air to cool I rushed forward, Aomine and Kise beside me and we pushed through and were in the courtyard of the castle. We didn't stop, and instead charged inside, the battle growing quiet behind us. Both Kise and Aomine sniffed the air and lead the way having found his scent. We moved quickly and quietly, not sure if Haizaki had left any men behind as a guard but our fears were unneeded as the place was deserted.

"The scent is strongest in this room."

I moved forward and pushed open the door, recoiling at the smells that assaulted my nose. I heard Aomine and Kise curse behind me and felt one of them gently clasp my shoulder as I shook with rage as I stared at the small room that held only a mattress and a toilet. Blood and less pleasant things had stained the mattress and it held the musky after smell of sex.

"Can you pick up his trail still?"

My voice was cold and quiet as I held back my fury.

"I have them both, it's a newer scent, if we follow this one it should lead us straight to him."

Again we rushed through the building, this time not bothering to be quiet. We exited out the back of the building and it was then I realised that the sound of the battle had silenced. We continued on into the forest and ran along, ever conscious of the brightening sky. We ran through the forest for what felt like an hour, the scent growing stronger as we moved closer. I relayed the information to the rest of my clan who had my feathers for communication and they were following, moving faster than us as we had to occasionally stop and search for his scent when it crossed water or Haizaki tried to confuse us with Kuroko's blood or hair which he would scatter in different directions, confusing the scent. However Kise and Aomine were good at what they did and knew Kuroko's scent too well to be side-tracked too long. At last we reached a small clearing and were greeted by a small group. Haizaki stood with a group of ten winged bat demons with Kuroko on his knees in front of him. I growled and stepped forward but he placed a taloned hand under Kuroko's chin drawing blood. I froze at the whimper Kuroko let out and glared at Haizaki.

"Give it up, you have lost. Your army has been defeated and we have back up on the way."

"Not yet I haven't, the eclipse is only forty minutes away, we can hold out until then. I will make his power mine, he will be under my control. I can defeat you three and then you won't be able to trace us."
