It only took a couple more days before everyone was let out of the hospital.
But the Xander Hospital will probably never be the same again. Having to deal with the Alpha team and the Guardians all together will probably be the hardest and worst thing the staff would have to deal with.
But, everyone made it. But that was the easy part. After Jinx had defeated Ragnarok, Carol had tried to run. But luckily Shawn's team had caught her before she had managed to get very far. And at the moment, she was being held under high guard. Even though they knew she wouldn't and couldn't get away.
But what the two teams had to do now was to meet with Vice Prime Minister Will Payne. The Vice PM needed answers to some of the more...interesting questions.
"So," Payne said, shuffling the papers in front of himself. "None of you have any idea why Welch did what she did?"
The soldiers and guardians just shook their heads and stared at him. Payne sighed and moved the papers and folders to the side. "You must have at least some thought? I mean, no one just decides to turn bad." But still, they all still didn't answer.
"Alright," Payne stated as he grabbed the second last folder from his right. "There is something else we need to discuss."
"Oh really? 'Cause we haven't been talking for the last 5 hours or anything..." Rocket mumbled behind his hand. To which Jinx, who was sitting beside him, let out a quiet chuckle.
Payne glared at the pair and then returned his gaze to the folder in his hands. "Xander is in ruins. The Academy, which was a secure location, until, Welch leaked to info to Ragnarok and his goons. That information is still out there." Payne looked at the people and aliens in front at the other end of the table. "That is a concern of the Xanderian government, and especially myself. So..." Payne trailed off.
"I know this is asking a lot of all of you. Considering you all just got out of the hospital. And I wouldn't ask you of this if I, we, the citizens, didn't need you to do this." The Vice PM sighed and then stared directly at the guardians. "We need you five to track down Ragnarok's goons and destroy the info on their ship."
Jinx whipped her head around to stare in shock at Payne. What-are-you-talking-about written all over her face. Well, all of them were giving him that look.
"Now, before you all start freaking out. There is a reason I'm splitting you up."
"Well then, please, share," Jinx said, clenching and unclenching her fists. Rocket, noticing her frustrations, laid a paw on her right clenched hand. Jinx relaxed a little but still kept her shoulders tight.
"I'm doing this because I need the Alpha team on Xander helping with the citizens and the cleanup. While Ragnarok was attacking the Academy, some of his followers attacked some parts of the city." Payne's eyes closed, the bags under his eyes became more noticeable. And Jinx almost felt sorry for the stress he might be going through...
If she wasn't so pissed right now.
"It's fine," Gamora spoke up. "All of us would be glad to help. Anything to stop whatever more damage Ragnarok's goons will try to do." The other four guardians nodded, agreeing with the ex-assassin.
"That's right," Corrigan said. "There's nothing more I want to do. I just want Xander to be safe and peaceful again."
"Well then," Payne smiled...well tried to at least. "Now that that's all settled, I believe we are done here. Guardians," they all turned their heads, "you may leave whenever you are ready."
They all stood, stretching their sore limbs, before making their way towards the door. "Um, Miss Peirce." Payne stopped the blonde soldier. "Could you stay? I need to speak with you about one more matter." He gestured to the last folder on the table.
