A/N - hi!!! I appreciate every SINGLE person who even bothers to read this story. It means so much to me!!! Comments are always welcome, suggestions too if your into that
And... I don't own anything, including the pics found on Google. I just love fanart, don't you?? I'd draw some except I can't draw. Basically I resort to writing, but it's sooo fun, I can't complain😄😄😄
Now back to the story...Ruby's POV
The next day
School's pretty much the same. I'm still the new kid, so I kinda have to watch my back. Nobody seems particularly... Bratty so far, but who am I to judge. It's only my second day, and I'm already trying to map out the social statuses of everyone around. I mean... I just don't wanna do something to get on anyone's bad side just yet.
Come on, what new kid ISN'T a little self-conscious?
And I was doing pretty well until some girl gave me the stink eye right before lunch. She had long-ish red hair, and had a camera hanging around her neck. I'm pretty sure I haven't ticked off any of the yearbook photographers yet, so I'm really not sure what's her problem.
At lunch, I sat with Vida and Jude again, and noticed someone else sitting by him.
" This is Nico", he said, pointing to a smaller boy with dark hair. His face looked worn and tired even though he must be only a freshman.
"Hey" I said.
He replied with a curt nod, but just kept his head down, staring at his food rather than eating it.
" Sooooo," Vida said. " For science, I got paired with Grannie, and you got pencil head. Who do you think got the better half of the deal?"
I laughed a bit. "I think I do, since I at least know my partners first name".
She feigned a mock look of shock. "How dare you accuse me of such a thing! I spent three years of my life in the same school as the little dork, of course I know his name!"
"Really??" I asked with sudden curiosity. It would be nice to have some options when I call him different names in my head. "Then what is it?"
"Just give me some time" she said, putting her hand on her chin, and staring deeply off into space.
"I'm pretty sure it starts with a ... B? No! D, yea, wait!! Dylan? No carl!! Yes, that's the one!!!" She exclaimed with too much pride. "An ugly name for an ugly man, makes so much sense now".
"No it's not" said Jude. "It's Charles, I've been at this school for like 7 months and I even know that! He's not even in my grade!"
"Oh" said a deflated Vida. "Well, that's an ugly name too!" She said as a not so strong comeback.
My stomach hurt from all the laughing, and I had to turn around to avoid Vida's death glare.
While tilting my head, I got the utmost pleasure of seeing the red headed girl practically sitting on Liam's lap.
She kept on jabbering away to him about who-knows-what, and had her hands all over him! I turned away, cringing, suddenly having a very bad taste in my mouth.
Who does she think she is?!
Yet...
Who do I think I am for caring?! I don't own Liam, in fact, I just met him yesterday! We only know each others first names, and I just happen to know where he was born, accidentally.
But we are barely friends!!! And I'm already getting jealous of a wannabe reporter!
Yikes!
Vida looked off to where I was staring, and gave me a look of understanding."That's Alice. She's a journalist for the school paper, but not a great one. I don't even know why she's at that table, it's supposed to only be for jocks".
"Jocks" I repeat, surprised. "Liam's a jock?"
Then Vida did something I didn't expect. She laughed, like not a mean kind of snicker, but a genuine Laugh.
"What?" I said.
"Nothing! I mean it's something alright. That boy can't catch a football even if you just handed it to him." She said, having a hard time biting back her laughter. " I think they just let him at the table since he's friendly to everyone, and him being denied a place on every sports team is HILARIOUS. I'm serious, he got hit in the face with a ball at every tryout, even swimming. Yeah, the soccer team has got to be more careful".
I smiled, thinking that someone who looked like That had some flaws.
Also, imagining him messing up at every sports tryout did wonders for my mood.
"And for Charles...?" A kid who sat out during gym and read during lunch couldn't be a jock.
"He's Liam's best bud or something like that, so he's just another exception" she says, suddenly bored now that the subject was on "grannie".
"Ok".
This school sure has a bunch of secrets that I have yet to uncover...that sounds strangely like some quote from a detective show or something.A/N - soooo, sry this chapter was a little late. The next one will be up soon. If anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears👂😄. I have planned out the next few chapters in my head already, but your opinions make me a better writer.
Panda out 😜🐼(my profile pick's no longer a panda, but the background image is )
