I sighed and leaned back in my chair, after just completing the 20 questions our Algebra teacher had set us to work on. There's nothing I've ever hated more than Algebra. And it wasn't because I didn't understand it either- the class was just boring. The majority of our lessons were to be spent in silence, but even if we could talk to other people, I knew absolutely nobody in this class. It was just one of those lessons that you completely dread all day, and it goes extremely slow.
I
rested my chin on the palm of my hands as I looked around the class. I couldn't help but notice the clock - 10 more minutes. Maybe it was the fact that I had this class last on a Monday, that made it drag.
"Madison have you completed this work?" Mr. Watson questioned, taking me by surprise. The whole class turned to look at me, but soon turned back to their tables.
"...Yes sir" I nodded, and he signalled for me to walk over to his desk. Talk about being lazy.
I handed him my book and watched as he glanced over it. "Okay well done, would you mind taking this note down to the office for me? It should be time to leave by the time you've done that, so take your bags." He told me, in a hushed voice, careful to not disrupt the other students. I nodded and took the stickie note from him. We actually had about 10 minutes of class left but I wasn't about to pass up the offer of getting to leave school early.
I draped my old rucksack over my shoulders and walked down the oh- so familiar steps in the school building.
Thank god this is my senior year.
I handed the note into the office, with a polite 'thank you' from the secretary in there. I was glad to have made it out of the school building before the bell rang, so I could escape the loud, pushy crowds, and not to mention the jocks who clearly have never heard of 'deodorant' in their lives.
I walked out of the back school gates, rolling the sleeves of my top up, and playing around with my braceletes out of boredom.
Just as I reached the alleyway, my back suddenly felt alot lighter. When I heard a 'thump' I knew my bag had given up.I sighed as I turned around and began to put the books back into my bag. It was kind of my fault for not getting a new bag when I had the chance to last weekend- Now I'm just stuck with this. Thank god nobody saw this or I'd never hear the end of it.
My heart stopped when I happened to see another hand holding my bag up for me. I stood up with it, and looked up to see who it was- none other than Devil himself.
He kept a stern expression as he handed me my bag. I kind of had no option but to hold it on the top ring. I tried to hide my embarrassed expression in front of him. I didn't know why I felt the need to be so different around him- but then again, this is Devil we're talking about.
"Thanks." I spoke up, looking into his eyes. He quickly looked away. "No problem." He smirked. I couldn't help but notice how he kept looking around him. Who was he trying to hide from? Was he really that embarrassed to be seen doing something nice for somebody?
"Well well well, What do we have here?"
