Madison's POV

I walked out towards the car park. For some reason, Austin didn't come to school today. But he texted me during 4th period to let me know he'd be picking me up after school.

It was kind of fun to spend time with Cassidy again because I admit, I did kind of go off with Austin this past week. It was okay, even if she did keep asking me endless questions about the bruises I had on my body.

I didn't think they were that noticeable...

"Hey baby" Austin smiled. He was leaned up against his car with his snapback placed backwards. His eyes squinted slightly as he looked in my direction, with the sun above me.

"Hey" I replied back. He pulled me into him gently by my waist and smirked before placing his lips over mine passionately.

I couldn't help but notice people staring at us. It made me feel uncomfortable..I mean, we were different. I think they just always suspected things of us because we were always so private about our lives.

"You okay?" He questioned, looking at me with concern. I swear he can read me like a book.

"Yeah I'm fine." He took a glance behind him.

"Just ignore them" He said.

I nodded and hugged him, wrapping my arms around his neck.

"I was worried about you" I mumbled, kissing his neck.

I enjoyed this moment whilst he was calm, because I knew he always changes in a split second.

"How did it go with your parents?" He questioned.

I pulled away and shrugged looking down at the floor, kicking a small pebble around.

"They grounded me for a week and told me that they're really disappointed in me."

I looked up to see Austin shaking his head, "I'm sorry."

"It's not your faul-"

"Yes, Madison. It is my fault. It's my fault for letting you get taken away in the first place."

"Austin it doesn't even matter okay? It's just for a week, I'll get over it. We're not going to discuss this right now." I urged, reminding him of where we are.

"Alright whatever" He sighed.

He pulled up a few houses down from mine and I unbuckled my seat belt

"Thanks for the lift." I smiled.

"I'll see you in a minute" He said right before I closed the door.

I looked at him confusedly as I walked down the road. He chuckled and motioned with his hands for me to keep walking. I shook my head and walked up to my house, knowing him he'd be sneaking in again.

"I'm home!" I called out, dropping my keys on the side and my bag to the floor.

"That makes a change." My mum commented.

"I said I'd be here and I am." I sighed and she didn't say anything back. I walked up stairs and bumped into somebody just as I reached the top step.

I let out a shriek, which was muffled by Austin's hand towards the end.

"Move!" I hushed, pushing him into my room.

"What the hell babe stop pushing me" He said in no rush at all.

"Madison?" My mum called out cautiously.

"It's fine mum I just saw a spider." I heard her laugh and I knew I was in the clear.

"You idiot!" I whisper-yelled after closing my door.

"What?!" Austin put his hands up in surrender.

"You could have atleast stayed in my room, what if my dad was home?"

"Babe I've had to sneak into a murderer's warehouse before without getting caught, I think I know what I'm doing." He chuckled, laying down on my bed.

"Right" I mumbled under my breath.

I hated it when Austin brought up what he did so nonchalently in our conversations.

I snuggled up to Austin and looked up at him. He was watching the tv so intently and his hazel eyes reflected the tv. His big plump lips and his jawline which was so defined.

"Austin?"

"Yeah babe"

"Can I ask you something?" I questioned.

"Yeah?"

"Promise me you won't get mad."

"I wont!" He chuckled. Noticing how unsure I was about his answer, he soothingly rubbed his hand up and down my arm. "I promise."

I took a deep breath, not knowing how to go about saying this. I knew he hated it when I got involved with his business but this was something I just had to know.

"How do you get away with it all? I mean the cops obviously know that you do this kind of stuff, but if they know, how comes you don't get arrested and all?"

I felt Austin tense up at the mention of what he did, but he seemed to control his anger for once.

"We just don't leave any evidence, that way, they have nothing to hold against us or prove that it was us. That's why we're well known for using bombs." He said, but I could tell there was anger hidden behind his words.

"Oh so why don't the-"

"That's enough, Madi." He told me sternly. I didn't want this to break into another fight, so I just bit my tongue for once and watched the programme.

I rested my head on Austins chest as he sighed.

"What's up with you lately?" He questioned harshly. I looked up with him with furrowed eyebrows.

"Sorry- You're just.. acting different." He apologised. I sat up from resting on him and kept my focus on the TV.

"Nothing?" I questioned innocently. He growled in annoyance.

"Fuck sake Madison just be honest with me!" He said loudly. He took hold of my chin, forcing me to look at him.

"You know I fucking hate it when you hide things from me." He said lowly, staring into my eyes.

I pushed his hands away from my chin as an uncontrollable tear fell down my cheek. He's never been this harsh and rough with me before, and I didn't really expect it. I wiped it away before he could notice. I stood up from my bed and made my way to the other side of the room.

"You should go." I said quietly, opening up the window that he had climbed in through previously.

He made his way over to me and pinned me up to the wall with his hands either side of me, a gasp falling from my lips.

"I'm not going anywhere until you tell me what's wrong." He was silent for a minute before he looked into my eyes.

"Did somebody hurt you?" His protective side showed through.

I just decided to tell him. I was stupid for thinking he would just let it go anyway.

"No, Cassidy just wouldn't leave me alone about the...bruises." I sighed.

The whole reason I didn't want to mention it was because it had something to do with Draydon and I knew how mad Austin got about this kind of stuff and our relationship was actually going well for a change. I don't even know if it's a relationship yet. We hadn't really spoken about that yet.

Austin wasn't the smartest kid academically but he could work things out that others couldn't. I'm pretty sure he understood what I was getting at.

"She kept.." I paused, knowing he wanted me to confirm his thoughts. "Asking me if you hit me."

The temperature in the room seemed to rise as his balled fists started to turn white at his knuckles.

"This is bullshit!" He shouted, turning around and knocking a vase full of flowers off of my dresser violently.

"Madi?" I heard my mum call from downstairs. "Madison what's all that noise? I'm coming up there!"

"No mu- uh i-" I stuttered, trying to stop Austin from leaving at the same time as panicking.

I watched from the window as Austin stormed over to his car and slammed himself inside. My mum bursted through the door and looked around curiously.

"What's going on in here?!" She exclaimed.

"Nothing? I just smashed my vase accidentally. I'll clean it up."

"Why did I hear yelling?" She folded her arms across her chest.

"I was watching Jersey Shore on tv?" I said innocently. She eyed me up and down suspisciously.

"Alright. Close your window. It's cold outside." She said sternly before walking out.

I collapsed down onto my bed and tucked my knees into my chest. I was disappointed in Austin and how he always walks out on me.

I stood at my locker and searched for my Science Revision book. I couldn't find it anywhere and it definitely wasn't at home either.

"Hey Mads!" I heard someone from behind me. It was Cassidy.

I turned around with a huge smile on my face and hugged her as tight as I could.

After thinking over it properly last night, I knew that I had no right to be angry with Cassidy. Maybe she was getting too involved with my business, but she only had good intentions and wanted to make sure that I was safe. That's what best friends are for, right?

As for Austin, I don't even know. I can't tell if I'm mad or just disappointed in him. He always forces me to tell him what's wrong, then leaves me when I do. But, I've always let him away with it before. Why? I can't tell.

I noticed Austin with his group of friends that he usually is with. From the corner of my eye I saw him glare at Cassidy as we pulled away.

"Oh my god! Guess what?!" She shrieked as I looked through my locker.

"What?" I laughed. Aha, there it was. I took the book and put it into my bag and shut my locker.

"I moved up into your class in Math!" We both shrieked of happiness again, probably recieving so many dirty looks from boys and girls alike for being so peppy so early in the morning.

"I finally know somebody in my math class!" I laughed.

As the bell rang, Cassidy went to her class, but I stayed at my locker for a while waiting for the rush to end. I didn't really get told off for being late anyways so it was fine.

"Hey" Austin smiled as he approached me at my locker. He leaned down to kiss me but I turned my head slightly and pushed him back by his chest.

"What?" He questioned softly. I shook my head at him in anger and bit my cheek.

"As if you don't already know."

"I don't!" He snapped.

"Whatever just leave me alone, please" I said in more of a question than a command. With that, I walked off to my lesson.
