-Austin's POV-
The room was rusty, dark, and dusty. Anything you'd typically imagine from a criminal/horror movie. Stepping in front of a few crates, but still hidden enough to prevent being seen, I took in what was happening before me. A young, thirteen year old boy was sat on a chair, with his wrists tied to it with rope. He was breaking down right there, shaking due to his uncontrollable fear. "Please!" He cried out. "I don't know why you're doing this to me!" His voice was loud and he was pulling up at his wrists as much as he could, attempting to free them. Looking to his side, I saw he was held at gunshot point by a man I was all too familiar with.
"Marlin." I stated, with a smirk on my face. His face whipped around to see who the voice was coming from, and just as he saw me, his gun point changed from the young kid, and over to mine. It was no use though, as my gun was already positioned out ahead of me, perfectly ready to aim fire whenever he did. "HELP!" The boy screamed. I shook my head at Marlin, "Really? Kidnapping little kids now are we? I didn't know you did that kind of shit" I spat. "Why the hell are you even here" He sneered, re pointing the gun back to the kid. "Oh I think you know perfectly well why I'm here. You've got something of mine and I want it back." I stated with a menacing tone. The young boy wasn't the only one to freak out, so was Marlin. He was shaking as a state of his mental instability. That's why he was so known around here. Ever since his parents were killed, he became part of a local gang, which obviously was never a threat to my own. He's messed up mentally, and that's why he's so fucking dangerous. He should be locked up in some mental home or some shit.
The fact is, he's long overdue some karma of his own. He's been setting off shots like it was rain falling from a sky- something normal. Not that I'm a man to sympathise with anyone, but he's involved harmless people from my town, and has killed little children and made their parents watch. That's the fucking shit I don't stand for. I might be harmless but I had boundaries from day one that I joined this gang, and we've never ever stepped this far. We're here to protect our town, even if the PD don't get that.
"Put your gun down." I told him. "PUT YOURS DOWN FIRST!" He yelled. I shrugged and lowered my gun, placing it in my pocket "Watch out!" I heard the kid yell. Looking up at me, I saw that Marlin had turned his gun towards me and was just about ready to pull the trigger. Sprinting as fast as I could, my hands pushed him back. He stumbled from this unexpected action and collided with the wall. I held onto his wrist and knocked the gun out of his hand, just as he pushed me off of him. "Shit" I breathed, looking down at my torso. My shirt had been torn, and it revealed a deep wound, my skin around it blood stained. Looking up at Marlin through my squinted eyes, I noticed the knife he had used to stab me in his hand, dripping with blood. "You son of a bitch" I seethed. "Close your fucking eyes" I told the kid, and he did without any hesitation. Holding the gun up to Marlin, I shot him straight through the chest before he could realise what was happening. He was dead instantly. Just like that.
Walking over, I kneeled down to the kid and cut the rope off of his wrists. "T-th-ank you s-s-o mu-uch you saved-" "Yeah whatever kid. Where's the paper?" I asked him, looking dead into his eyes. He froze when our eyes caught contact before pointing over to the corner of the room. "I think I r-eme-m-mber him pu-tt-ting som-ething in- in there" He stuttered. I swiftly stood up and walked over to the corner of the room where, indeed, there was exactly what I was looking for. Picking it up, I folded it into my pocket before turning back to look at the kid. "You just gonna stay here or what?" He stumbled up out of the chair and quickly speed walked over to me. "Please don't hurt me I don't know what-" "I'm not gonna hurt you okay? God damn" I spat. "You live around here? Need me to take you home?" He nodded quickly. "I live a few blocks away."
"You keep your mouth shut, you hear me?" I told him, handing over some money I had used to bribe him with, and hell was it a fair amount. He nodded, "I swear I won't say a single thing." I nodded, telling him to stick with the excuse I had came up with on the ride here to his house, the one that he would tell his parents. I unlocked the car, and I don't think I've seen anyone move as quickly as he did when he got out of the car, probably desperate to be safe again. I chuckled at how shook up he was at this whole situation before starting my drive back home, satisfied that everything had gone my way tonight. I just wanted to get home to my girl.
