#6: Hospital

Lily was lying in Grayson's bed. He was sleeping on the floor of Ethan's bedroom. She was looking at the ceiling. She couldn't fall asleep. As much as she tried, she wouldn't fall asleep. She would go talk to Grayson, but he's probably asleep and she might wake Ethan up. She closed her eyes and tried to sleep.

Grayson was lying on the floor of Ethan's room. Ethan was asleep in his bed and Grayson was lying on the floor with nothing but a pillow and a blanket. He couldn't fall sleep. He keeps closing his eyes and trying to fall asleep, but nothing works. He would go talk to either Ethan or Lily, but Lily's probably asleep. Ethan wasn't moving, he was sound asleep. The only movement was his chest rising and falling. Grayson couldn't take it.

He got off the floor, trying not to make a sound. He tiptoed out of Ethan's room and made his way into his room. He slowly opened the door. He looked in and saw Lily lying in his bed. She looked so peaceful. "Lily?" He whispered.

"Gray?"

"Yeah, can I come in?" He asked. She sat up and looked at the door. Grayson was standing in the doorway. She could just make out his appearance in the dark.

"Sure." He made his way to the bed and joined her. They sat really close to each other. "Were you having trouble sleeping?" She asked.

"Yeah" he replied. "I wasn't sure if you were awake or not. Ethan is practically dead; he's a heavy sleeper. I was getting bored! Shall we go downstairs?" He looked at her, although she probably couldn't see him. She turned to him.

"Are we allowed?"

"Yeah, come on!" They made their way downstairs. Grayson led her down to the basement. He turned on the light and sat on the sofa. He checked his phone: 1:13am. It was super early. "Do you want something eat?" He asked, no longer whispering.

She smiled at him. "Sure, what have we got?" He walked upstairs to the kitchen. He came back with a variety of snacks. He put the T.V on and they watched movies. They ate the food and watched movies. Around 5am, they were falling asleep. They fell asleep cuddling each other.

Ethan woke up to see Grayson gone. He checked his phone: 9am. He walked into Grayson's room and saw the bed empty. He made his way downstairs and saw the house empty. He walked down to the basement. He turned on the light to see Grayson and Lily asleep on the sofa. They had food around them. Ethan decided to wake them up.

"WAKE UP!" He yelled as loud as he could. They both shot up in panic. Once again, Ethan was laughing at them. They realised it wasn't urgent and fell back asleep. Ethan sighed. "What time did you go to sleep?!"

"Around 5, maybe?" Grayson guessed. Ethan decided to let them sleep and left the basement. He turned off the light and made his way into the kitchen. He saw his mom making breakfast. She turned and smiled at him.

"Hi, honey! Where's your brother and his friend?"

"They're asleep in the basement. I guess they came down last night and watched movies. They took a few snacks out the cupboard and ate a lot of it" Ethan explained. "Gray thinks they fell asleep at around 5 this morning." Ethan took his breakfast and ate at the table.

"Wow, I guess I'll have to talk to him when he wakes up!" Mrs Dolan said. She joined Ethan at the table and they enjoyed a lovely conversation together.

Grayson woke up to find Lily lying in his arms. She was cuddling up to his chest. He got his phone and checked the time: 11:57am. He felt Lily move in his embrace. She slowly opened her eyes. Sitting up, she greeted Grayson with a smile. "Good morning" she said in her tired voice.

"Good morning!" He replied. "Shall we go eat breakfast? I mean lunch! It's almost 12! They've already ate breakfast and my mom is probably in the kitchen making everyone lunch right now. Shall we go eat?"

They walked out the basement and into the kitchen. Mrs Dolan was stood in the kitchen making lunch. Mrs Dolan smiled at them as they made their way into the back yard. Ethan was helping Cameron clear the driveway. Grayson and Lily joined Ethan near the pool that was iced over. Ethan stopped as he noticed their presence.

"Good afternoon, owls!" Ethan greeted them. They laughed at their nickname; owls because they fell asleep when the sun was coming up. "Did you sleep well?" He asked. They smiled at him.

"Yeah, I did! It was really fun. Just watching movies until we fell asleep. It was fun! I feel like I ate a city, but it was fun" Lily replied. She smiled at Grayson, who smiled back.

"So" Ethan started. "What are we doing today?"

Everyone was silent. "Um, I don't know. Whatever you want to do, I guess" Lily said. An idea popped into Grayson's head.

"How about we play Mario Kart?!" Everyone looked at him. They all agreed and got up. They were walking when Ethan slipped and accidentally pushed Lily into the swimming pool. Grayson quickly jumped in after her and got her out the pool.

She stood looking at them. Grayson marched towards Ethan. His jaw clenched with anger. "Look what you did! You're such an idiot!" Grayson yelled in Ethan's face.

"Look, I'm sorry. I slipped and accidentally pushed her in! I didn't mean to!" Ethan replied, defending himself.

"No! This is your fault! You pushed her in! How could you be so careless?!" Grayson stared at him in anger. "Who knows what could have happened! She might have hit her head and drowned! How could you be so reckless?!"

"Gray? Grayson?" Lily repeated as they argued. "Grayson!" He turned to her. "I can't see! I can't see anything! I can't see you! I can't see! Everything's black! I can't..." she collapsed to the floor. Grayson ran to her side. He carried her bridal style to the house.

"Mom!" He yelled. "I need help! Lily fainted! Mom!" His mom came running towards him. She rushed them to the car and drove them to the hospital.

They arrived to the hospital and Grayson ran to the receptionist. "Please help! My friend fainted and I don't know what to do! Please help her!" Grayson spoke, panic clearly heard in his voice.

Lily was rushed to be seen to. Ethan, Grayson and their mom were sitting in the waiting room. Grayson was pacing back and forth. It was killing him as every second went by. He waited for the doctor to come back with information about Lily.

What if something bad happened? What if she dies?
