same night @ prom its lit 🤑🤘🏻

prom had just ended and everyone was standing around talking as they waited to leave.

"we'll meet you guys at the after party then, eh?" shawn said to blake and jay and their dates and I started laughing.

"what?" shawn said turning to me.

"eh?" I said mimicking his voice with a little bit of exaggeration.

he laughed at my attempt to sound like him, "why is that so funny?"

"you're so canadian it's hilarious." I laughed and he rolled his eyes.

"alright guys, we're gonna go and let you two flirt about canada on your own." Blake said and I looked over at him.

"okay!" I laughed a little, "we'll see you in a bit."

everyone who was with us said their goodbyes and walked off. shawn and I walked outside and got in his jeep. I honestly don't know how tf it got here since we drove here in a party bus but whatever no questions asked.

we got in the car and buckled as he started the car. he started driving away and played the radio softly.

"when did you move from canada?" I asked him and he smiled to himself.

"last year, why the sudden interest in canada?"

"I don't know man, I think I have a thing for canadians." I joked and he laughed.

"us canadians have a thing for cute brunettes who are 5'3 and named maddie." shawn winked and I smiled.

"good to know."

"did you ever move far?" he asked me and I shook my head.

"nope. I've always lived in california. how far a move was it for you?" I asked.

"far." he stated, "I was from Toronto. It was hard to come into a high school for junior year because everyone has their friend groups."

"well things seem to have worked out for you. you've got friends." I said and he nodded.

"yeah I mean, I tried to act cool in order to get people to like me, which worked. but I don't know, maybe I shouldn't have," he said but then thought again, "nah, I don't regret anything. i mean, I feel bad for what I've done to people. real bad. but, at least I know better now. like, I have a good group of friends and I'm happy with my life now. who knows if I'd even know you if I had acted any different." he said.

"I like who you are." I stated simply and he smiled.

"thank you." he said genuinely.

"what were you like at your school in canada?" I asked and he laughed a little.

"I was kinda a dweeb." he said and I gasped.

"like I wasn't nearly as tall as I am now, I was scrawny, and my hair was a mess. I like to think my personality was pretty nice back then, but I didn't have the looks." he explained.
