-"... I will follow you into the dark..."- (Part 3)

It was a simple summer day, too simple to actually mean something.

But it meant the world. Taehyung jumped out of his bed to wake Jungkook. The light broke through the curtains of the room and Taehyung could see that Jungkook was nowhere near. He pursed his lips, walking out of his room.

They had been up all night. They wanted to admire the darkness a little more. Weird, how they could be attracted to such a thing?

Taehyung didn't know, it was for different reasons though.

"Taehyung, what does it even mean?..."

"Huh?", Taehyung said and leaned a little bit back on the cold surface underneath him.

Jungkook let the water glide through his fingers.

"What does it mean, if you love the dark so much more than the light?"

Taehyung furrowed his eyebrows and started playing with a wooden stick in his hands. It's nothing weird for the younger to say. Even when he was silent at day, as soon as the moon came up, he just felt so free in the night.

And god, Jungkook had so much to say.

"I don't know... maybe you belong to the dark?", Taehyung asked, flipping the stick into the water. Jungkook nodded, his breathtaking smile forming onto his lips. He looked so happy to hear that.

"Do you think so?"

Taehyung didn't answer, just listened to the calming waves of the green water in front of him.

It's completely silent for a while. For a long time. It feels like hours when he heard a noise next to him.

"I love you, Tae", Jungkook said and it was not the usual teasing sound, it wasn't the 'I love you' where he scrunched up his nose cutely.

It was a serious one and Taehyung turned around slightly to see his Kookie staring at him. He's a little surprised but he didn't hesitate to say it back.

"I love you too, Kookie."

It was silent for a while again and Taehyung was close to drifting off to sleep, chewing a blade of grass between his teeth.

"Do you belong to the dark or the light, Tae? Hm, what do you think?" Even though his words were playful, his tone was not. And the question itself surely wasn't.

But Taehyung didn't really mind. He took the grass out of his mouth and thought for a while.

"I don't really know. I love both, I love the darkness from all of my heart. Just because I can spend it with you, Kookie~", he chimed, poking Jungkook's chest and Jungkook giggled at that.

"But", Taehyung went on, thinking hard. "... there has to be some light at some point. How could we appreciate the darkness, if there was never some light?"

"That's where we're different...", Jungkook mumbled after a while and Taehyung failed, as he so often did, to notice the tone in his brother's voice. The sadness, gazing, thinking in it.

He just put an arm underneath his neck and gazed up to the sky, biting his lip.

"Hm", he said after a while, turning around to his beloved brother, smiling his box-grin. Little did he know for the last time in three years.

"I guess, I'm just a sunrise person then."
