Chapter 4

Lana

I could hardly sleep all night as I thought about what Bette had told me. I had gotten just a couple hours of sleep before I was wide awake again. If the organization really was double crossing us then were we really safe here? Living under their roof, the very same people who are trying to kill us.

I laid in bed for a while longer until I finally had enough. I opened my eyes to see a man sitting on a chair just watching me. I quickly got up from my bed and tried to make a run for the gun I had on my bedside table before he grabbed me.

He twisted my arm to my back causing me pain. I yelled out and pushed him back but he didn't even move and he did a quick turn and had me on the ground. He was strong, I will give him that but I was determined. I was on the floor and he was on top of me after I head butted him, making him grab hold onto his head.

"Lana I am not here to fight" he says standing and fixing his suit "I'm Leo"

Finally my eyesight had adjusted to the light in the room and realized I had seen him around the organization a few times.

"You say that like it explaining why are you in my room watching me sleep like a creep" I say raising my voice

"Tori wants to see you" he says reaching his hand out to help me up

"You could have knocked" I say standing from the ground without taking his hand

"I did" he says opening the door to leave "you didn't answer"

"Okay, I'll change" I said annoyed at how careless i had been with my surroundings especially now

I was already turning to grab my clothes before Leo spoke up again.

"No time, come on" he says holding the door open "she said it was important"

"Okay..." I say following him once I at least patted down my hair

Leo stayed quiet most of the time. I looked up at him and could tell he was thinking of something. I could see his eyes trailing over a few people then he would look around as if he was calculating everything. When we reached her office I could tell things were off. Her office was a mess of papers thrown around.

"Ah, Lana" Tori says standing from where she sat with a smile on her face "please sit we need to talk"

"I'll stand" I say looking around wondering what had happened

Leo cleared his throat before nodding at us and leaving the room leaving only me and Tori.

"I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this, but it looks like Bette has switched sides on us" she says

"What do you mean?" I asked her confused

I stared at Tori and I saw the head of this organization. Of course she wasn't the one to betray us. And if someone did it wouldn't be Bette either she was being framed and we couldn't let that happen, i couldn't let that happen.
